Hello,

I just bought the S6 edge yesterdar and God... This thing overheat like crazy. If i play Mortal Kombat, it overheat. If i play another intense game it overheat. If i stay in fb or twitter for a long perior during the day without air conditioner, it get super hot in the back. So, it suppose that the SD 810 overheats but, they are not admitting that the S6 also overheat. I think the problem is with the big.LITTLE implementation.

There are 2 S6 edges in my home. Neither has ever come close to overheating. Maybe you have too many apps running.

i play in a room with with 2 3d printers running. gaming pc, About 90 in here havent turned the ac on for the year yet. running antutu back to back for 2 hours i never had my s6 edge overheat one time.

can you provide proof? screen shot showing the temps?

There is a huge difference between overheating and getting warm.

When a device overheats, it essentially means the temperatures reached the point where damage to the internal hardware is possible and thus the device shut off in order to prevent any damage.

Any modern smartphone will warm up when put under heavy use, gaming is an example of this. It is impossible to expect a 7mm device with no internal cooling mechanisms to remain cool under heavy use.

With that said, while temperature increases are common, there is a point at which you know the temperature is too high. If the device reaches a temperature hot enough to burn your hands then you should take the phone and get it repaired.

Hottest mine has gotten was 104 F after wireless charging. Since that time I haven't used it and I've gotten to 99 using the regular fast charger. Hot to the touch but I just turn off the phone for 5 minutes and is fine.

Im using a regular S6 rather the edge, but I haven't reached 100F yet, whereas my old droid DNA would regularly reach 100 and a few weeks back hit 113F

I used the Pedometer App with GPS on
that really made my Phone heat & got pretty warm

But now after the Update from Samsung
i have better battery life and does not heat up anymore :)

When you say overheat, are you getting overheat warnings? If you aren't then it is not overheating.

Sent from my Pearly White Verizon Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge

they is a big differance between getting warm, getting completley hot and reaching the point when it turn's off 3 applications with the warrning that is reached a criticaly temperature. i experienceed this from the first days of my new s6.... so, is it a common issue or just a few defective phones?

sorry for the typos

I had my first Galaxy 6 edge for 10 days and it started overheating for no reason got an exchange let's hope I have better luck with the second overheating is not normal I suggest u trade device if it keeps doing IT.

I'm debating whether or not i should exchange my week old Edge. Generally, it runs about 87 to 89° F. But, at least 5 or 6 times per day it will shot up to 95 to 99° F for no real reason. It's usually something like reading or replying to email or reading an article on Pocket. I'm not a gamer so it's not some CPU intensive game in the background either.

95 to 99° F ins't super hot, but previous phones have not had this problem.

I did a factory reset when I first got the phone but haven't done one since.

Exchange? Keep?
