Galaxy S6 : Post Pictures Of Your Home Screen(s)

Quick question about themes (hopefully this hasn't been asked a million times): when you change the icons for the theme, does it change them system-wide? Basically what I'm asking is does it also change the icons for the multitasking window, app selection window, etc?
Yeah its a system wide change

Sent from my Samsung Galaxy S6!

Hey Smooth,
When you change themes, does it also change colours of other stuff, like notification dropdown colours, menu colours... or do those always stay the same colours, regardless of theme? Thanks!

I have a general question for whomever this may apply to ...

I see a lot of home screens with very little on the screen. Usually some kind of widget up top with time, date, weather, etc. ... and sometimes also a custom widget for battery life, etc. Then, there's nothing but a blank screen where you can see a very pretty background image, and then the icons in the dock.

I have tried a few times to use that "setup" for myself, but always find that I get annoyed by not having commonly used apps out on the home page. I use my phone hard, and hate having "extra clicks" to get to an app I use a lot. So, in the end, I always end up back with a few rows of apps above the dock, then a widget or two up top (I use a 5x7 grid size via Nova Prime).

So, I guess what I want to know from those with really "clean" home pages is ... do you find it annoying at times to have to go find your apps to use? Or do you really just enjoy the clean home page so much that it overcomes any annoyances of the "extra clicks"?

When I see those "clean" home pages I have the exact same thought - - how the heck do you get anything done???

I have six of my most used apps on my home screen. It's not very difficult to go to the app drawer anyhow. I use the Aviate launcher. It also organizes my apps to the right of the home. Then alphabetizes them all the way to the right.

I'm not really familiar w/ Aviate Launcher (I use Nova Prime), but obviously it looks nice and works well for you. I guess I could easily put a page to the right of my home screen with all my commonly used apps on it, and only have to page over one page to get to them ... which would allow me to have a "clean" home screen.

Also, if Nova launcher allowed me to arrange my apps in the app drawer other than alphabetically, I could put my commonly used apps there on the first page, but I can't do that.

I keep my most used apps in different folders in the bottom dock. Keeps everything I need two clicks away.

Yup, they change everything from the dialer to contacts, to messages, to settings
All the colors change and design of the icons in the notification toggles change as well

I'm one of those minimalist home page guys that was discussed above. 95% of the time, the stuff I use is one of the 4 icons on the page. I keep stuff on the other pages, and it's simple enough to access when I need them.

I don't often start an email/text on my phone, so I don't put an app on the home page. If I get one, I access it through the notification, and can reply as needed.

I don't even have a weather widget. I've avoided them since I've been unsure of their effect on battery life. May try one out at some point. Time- well, it's on the top of the phone (and I wear a watch).

Simple.

And here's a pic of my lock screen:

Looks nice. You could probably free up a spot on the dock by removing the camera icon, since on the S6 you can double tap the home button to launch the camera from anywhere.

I keep my most used on the dock plus a favorites folder. And all of my apps are organized into folders in the app drawer.

For those using Nova, you can create a folder in the app drawer and it will show up before any alphabetized apps.

Funny, as I was writing the post, I was thinking the same thing. Great minds think alike!! I have been using the double tap to get to the camera, so I may consider putting a different icon in that spot.

Yes, thank you. The car just turned 40 years old last week (Build date April 16, 1975)! It's been a while since I've done a track event, need to get it out again.

I have the Edge and use an app called Apps Bar that is on my left edge. You can hide the bar with one click and I have all of my most frequent apps hidden on the left edge of the home screen. The app isn't just for the edge if you are interested.

Interesting! So does the mean that the alternate colours will be maintained, even if I switch launchers? (if you know)
