Unlocked phones from CPW use XEU, this is the unlocked code for UK and Ireland that are not purchased direct from Samsung, There is no reason that the carriers have to get involved with the software for these phones.
It's a joke that the carriers can modify and release the software before Samsung can, when its Samsung providing them with the software in the first place

Yeah that's right for some reason though XEU variants still have to wait a similar time to the carrier variants.

This is why I've changed mine. Was running a VOD variant but with a carrier unlocked phone. Now on BTU

There are many pitfalls to look out for. Flashing alternative software to your phone is dangerous and can brick your phone if not done correctly.

That said it is possible and there are many who have done it successfully.

First thing to ask: is your phone locked to a carrier or can you use any network's SIM card in it

Its unlocked, currently on XEU uk/Ireland firmware.

Ditto to this cannot stress enough how important it is to follow all steps exactly. Head over to Sammobile. They have guides and all the necessary files. You will need a free account and downloading firmware takes a while but that's what I followed.

Unlocked S7 here in UK from CPW still nothing ,pathetic why does it take so long? surely there is nothing to stop an unlocked handset getting it before carrier versions
