Galaxy S8 SMS conversation disappearing

[Android Central Question]

Hi,

I have a galaxy s8 and my girlfriend an iPhone. I want to find info from sms conversations we had earlier in the year but can only go as far back as july 6th. Prior to this there are only MMS that have been sent between us. Where are the SMS messages going and how do I stop them disappeared in future??

Welcome to Android Central! Do you typically have a ton of messages saved on the phone? If so, the app might be automatically deleting old messages to make room. Go to the messaging app's settings and see if there's a setting for that.
