Putting things back on track here before it runs off the rails completely, I don't think Samsung cares as much about battery life as they want to. They care about what the majority of consumers want. They see the Apple Watch, which gives about a day of battery life, yet it's the best selling smartwatch. That means that consumers like the watch for reasons other than battery life (UI fluidness, slimness, app compatibility, great watch faces, body sensors, etc). And so that's where they are focusing their efforts. Basically, they're a business like any other company. The only way to get then to reverse course on battery life is to stop buying the product and start buying products with longer battery life. That would get their attention.
