Galazy Gear v/s Android Wear app

Any words out if the old Galaxy Gear will work and be compatible with the new Android Wear App?
It's sad how Samsung fooled us with 3 new gear wear since the original Gear in what 7 months?

I don't think so... Different operating platforms. There is a Null Rom that looks promising for the Gear 1 at least.

I'm so glad I didn't buy the Gear 2 (nor the Gear Live) with their shenanigans. Plus a lot of the apps that were promised at launch for the Gear 2 are still not available. Not to mention Fleksy is getting a ton of complaints, which is the app I was anticipating the most. The Gear 1 has already been abandoned. I haven't seen a new app in months and the few that were made "recently" are useless. Not even a simple friggin calculator. I may be done with Samsung. They can shove their Tizen OS up their...
