Gave the Pixel a shot. Sending it back and getting the LG V20

Set the LG V20 with HDR always on in auto mode and the quality is always superb...or just learn how to use the manual mode...there are no issues if you take the time to figure how things work...people like you who comment without learning how to use something causes people to make bad purchase decisions

He may not want to mess with manual mode. I am by no means a photographer or claim to be so I like cameras that are good at the "point and shoot" method. That is a must for me.

Haha people like me? I'm certain I know way more about Android and smartphones in general than yourself. Don't generalize me. I could generalize you but I won't stoop to your level. I've taken the time, read the reviews and messed with many different configurations even in manual mode which I don't want to use. As I said above, go to the V20 section on this site and pick any photos and zoom in on them and tell me again that they're crisp vs the Pixel.

I was going to get V20 but the deal breaker for me was that the Pixel, like the iphone, supports hearings aids. I can bluetooth to hearing aids my phone and music. Other Android phone cannot do this and require a separate transmitter.

You know, even when I go to the V20 page on this site and go into the part about "show off you V20 pictures," click on any of the photos and zoom in and you'll see that the image quality sucks on every photo. I'm amazed.

For what it's worth uploading photos through tapatalk or through the forums really degrades the quality of the photos. Even if you go the photo thread here in the Pixel forums you'll see the same thing. I have the Pixel XL and V20. I can get just as sharp pictures as the Pixel with my V20 but the Pixel on the other hand suffers far too much from ghosting and lens flare compared to it's other competitive devices.

The V20 auto mode is not that great as of yet. You're right about that. However, manual mode is superb - on par with Pixel photos.

Sorry the v20 didn't work for you. It doesn't come with HDR on out of the box like the Pixel. If you checked out some of the photos on the V20 forum you'll see that good pics can be taken with the phone. But it's all personal preference. Choose what works for you. 1478451965841.jpg

Excellent!

Same here. After 8 years of multiple Android Flagships per year, I was so off-put by the Pixel's pricing that I got a 256GB iPhone 7 plus. Cold turkey.

It's, by far, the most complete, well-built, efficient device that I've ever put my paws on.

I have the 7 Plus and hate it. I can't believe how much i spent on a device that's lacking so many features. The display isn't great, camera is worse than pixel and I can't stand the interface. Just isn't for me. Going back to Pixel XL.

as for lg camera quality, have you guys tried setting the photo size to 16mp 4:3, versus the default 12mp 16:9?
i really like the wide zoom lense option. it makes for taking indoor photos way better.
i also looked at the pixel, but couldnt get over how plain and basic the interface is. and the square plastic on the back is just odd, lol.

i'm actually impressed with the v20, coming from a note 7.

I tried every configuration of settings on the camera. V20 being shipped back to T-Mobile tomorrow. I wanted to like it, trust me. I tried and tried. My girlfriend was like.... WTF? All you keep doing is complaining about the picture quality and browsing speed. Send it back. So you can guess how that's going.

Before you ship it back, could you take comparison photos with the Pixel and V20 so we can see what you mean about the V20 picture quality?

Because everything I'm seeing from the V20 photos is that they look really great.

I'm getting some good shots with mine.

When ever a person pays $750 plus for a "flagship phone" ...... Everyone dreams that their own purchase is for the very finest phone available. No one wants to hear about any flaws that come out 1 week or 1 month from the release of the phone. Phones cost BIG money and are NOT worth what you pay.....It is all about marketing ....

I will say that my first few hours with the LG v20 are not going well. Picture quality is crap compared to the pixel XL. I have another few days to play with them both but most likely I will be keeping the pixel XL. And sending the v20 back
Bet that V20 UI is ugly has hell too. Especially the dialer. To me, the LG phones UI is terrible. Just my opinion.

actually its not bad. i really am not a fan of barebones android interface and dialer. coming from a note, i actually like a lot of things lg has done.

I never understand how some may call the LG UI ugly.. Its nothing ugly about it and if it is ...then change it...the central OS is android for a reason....if this is your only excuse for trying to make the V20 seem like an inferior device...then you are doing a bad job......

And funny thing imo...the dialer is quite nice to look at
