Get a free Gear S2 with the purchase of a Verizon S7/S7 Edge

I checked the status on mine and happened to click on the Terms and Conditions link (https://promos.samsungpromotions.com/gearvr/en-us/rules) and it looks like they have been recently modified. The way I read this, the original quantity of S2 is gone but they have decided to continue honoring the promotion. Delivery dates will be delayed (possibly June) but if you do not want to wait that long you now have an option to take a $100 Samsung gift certificate.... interesting.

I've been told it is just the regular Bluetooth from a Verizon brick and mortar store.

I have a tip for Verizon customers, though your mileage may vary:

After getting no confirmation emails and not seeing any updates on the Samsung/PrizeLogic promotion site, I contacted Verizon (I ordered over the phone and the reps send an email directly to you after your order) just very kindly/politely saying that I was having issues with the promotion site and was concerned about the updated terms indicating that I may not get an S2 until late summer or not at all, asking if they could possibly fulfill it through Verizon. Again - just super polite and nice and like, "if you can't do anything I understand."

I got a call a few hours later, and while she said they couldn't send me one for free, she could take $200 off whichever S2 I preferred, so I ended up getting the white/silver 3G/4G variant for only $99 billed to my account with overnight shipping (should get here today.)

Ironically, the Samsung site now shows my submission is approved and shipping is pending, though I haven't gotten any emails. Even if its the Gear VR, it can be sold to recover the cost of the watch. If its the watch than I made out damn well.

But anyway - just wanted to share my experience. If you get the right person (preferably sales not customer service) and are super nice, they may be willing to help you out. I've seen some others post about having the S2 sent to them for nothing at all as well, and I imagine if I had pushed it I could have gotten that as well.

I just tried...no cigar, they just kept saying this is being fulfilled on Samsung's side and is out of their hand. Darn

Good for you if you were a buyer of the S2 even w/out the free promo. At the price of Free the S2 is worth taking a look at but at 100 it's just shy of 100 more than I'm willing to pay for the S2. I still have and use my Gear S daily .. so perhaps I'm biased.

Maybe give the S2 a chance. I was skeptical but liked the way it looked. I also have a Moto 360 and the Microsoft Band, and have used the Apple Watch... and this is by far the best experience I've had. Obviously a lot of this depends on use case, but it is faster and more fluid than any of them, the bezel navigation is great, the connection seems way better than Android Wear, the notifications more reliable, and the overall experience just better. The battery life is a solid 2 days. I can see how if someone was using it for the apps they would be disappointed- but after the first week I rarely used the apps on my 360, and when I did they barely worked (see the Wink app... which would be useful if it ever actually loaded your shortcuts.)

My experience with the S2 thus far has been crazy positive. So give it a shot!

Regarding Verizon, again I'd reiterate try to get in touch with sales or even retention and if at first you don't succeed, try again.

Also - has anyone gotten their S2 or even a ship date from Samsung/PrizeLogic?

I tried your call to Verizon trick and all they could offer me was $100 off the watch which is the current promo right now. They were super nice though, but I was pretty bummed. I don't know how to get them to offer me the $200 off :(

I called PrizeLogic Saturday and was on hold for over an hour all for them to tell me that shipping is now backed up to April 18-30, or possibly May or June. Basically they told me nothing. I still don't have a ship date, just pending. I'm guessing it'll be late April before I get mine.

This isn't what I did, but you may want to try talking to the retention department. Tell them you only bought the phone due to the promotion, you are unable to get any updates from PrizeLogic/Samsung, and that you are going to cancel all of your services and return the phone if they aren't able to at least do something for you. Usually you get more flies with honey, but hey, try the vinegar lol.

So quick follow up. I didn't have time to sit on the phone waiting for someone at prizelogic to answer so I emailed through their site. 6 days later got a reply saying I am due to get the S2 and my ship estimate is still listed as 4/1/16. Guess we shall see in a few days.

So is it safe to assume that from the Status update page from the Samsung promo website, everybody who asked for the S2 have pending shipment date, while the VRs have an estimated date?

I think it's just such poor management on their part that from a few people, they've been told that the shipments are backed up because Samsung is out of stock. If you run this promo, and have a 35,000 unit claim limit, shouldn't you at least have the brains to keep at least that much on stock so they don't have an overwhelming issue of not enough inventory?!

People who requested on 3/8 have indicated an estimated ship date and some from 3/9 have indicated that fedex shows a delivery, but the samsung site says pending. I submitted 3/9 at noon, and am still pending with nothing on fedex

I requested 3/8 with approval but still pending ship date...I didn't even receive a confirmation email...

Submitted for Gear S2 on 3/8. Approved and pending ship date. Confirmed with prizelogic that I am getting the S2. Never received email. No packages on FedEx Tracking Manager yet.

As I mentioned on a different post, I received my GS2 today from FedEx. It's the 3g from Verizon. Never received a email and the site still says that it's pending.

Same here.
I received my submission accepted.
Ship date 4-8-16
