Get a free Gear S2 with the purchase of a Verizon S7/S7 Edge

And i'm actually curious for those who got their watches... what was your location code? Because it looks like that's what delaying mine.

Per my earlier post, Verizon took care of me...

But my status with Samsung is just sitting at Pending still. What a s**tshow. Going on what, 8 weeks now?

If you purchased a second s7 (buy one get one free offer) just wait till you get emails saying your entry was invalid, claiming all the info that's "clearly" visible on the copies of your receipt and Barcode, are missing. The submission date they have
changed several times, pushing into the future even further away your citibank debit card from Verizon (your rebate.) Something about this promo reminds me of the mess ups we all experienced with trying to get our s2's. I can picture some big fat Olga sitting at redemption headquarters salivating all over the watches and rebate cards, refusing to give them up too easily. Maybe that helps the bottom line? For what I'm paying them every month for all the lines I have on several accounts, they should be handling this promo a little better.

The longer this goes the more I'm convinced the location code issue is just BS that they're telling to cover their butts because they don't want to admit they screwed up and mishandled the initial batch of submissions...

I got the invalid email and cleared it up by giving them a missing order number that wasn't on the footnote of one of the installment agreements for some reason. It's back at pending but the GC value went from $0.00 to $0.01 before I ended my chat session. The person led me to believe I am approved without being allowed to actually say it. The submission date I have now reflects when the initial audit was done because it was the next day I had the invalid issue resolved. It actually isn't the submission date rather than the date verizon sees the submission. There's some bucket it sits in until a timer expires and it gets sent to them, which is why they couldn't see my paperwork earlier than that date.

I have learned that if mine was rejected due to location code for real, then it really was a legitimate rejection. But I am not convinced yet that the reason mine was swapped was actually due to out of stock which is what they first told me when I called the night I got the VR. I think PL just made a presumption when I called back again because the staff became aware an audit was done (or so they claim) that I was rejected. But, there seems to be people on here who got ecerts because of being swapped due to out of stock at the same time as me. Very suspicious to me, unless they did the audit because they were low on stock which actually might make sense. I still don't understand how it can be so difficult for PL to just automatically check the code on initial processing and tell you right away. I'll bet a high school kid can write a simple program to do this. It is just astonishing to me how such a simple process can be made so stupidly nonsensical.

I thought the person at Comcast cleared everything up for you yesterday? Did that not end up working out?

Sent from my Adamantium™ S7 edge

It clears up that I cannot have any case against PL for reason of location code. The rest of what I was pointing out in my last post was maybe I was swapped to VR due to no stock, not because of this audit that seemed to happen around the same time as the out of stock event. Which just adds to confusion about the reason for getting a VR instead. I got 2 different reasons when I called PL depending on who I spoke to. The last supervisor was rude to me, maybe I caught her at a bad time, so who knows if what she told me was correct or she just wanted to get rid of me. I also want to make my case to them that a PL rep in fact told me before I ordered the phone I would qualify for S2 going through comcast and he would make a note of it, which is nowhere to be found so it probably will get me nowhere. Or someone conveniently redacted it from my file. [X-Files theme music.. lol]

ahhh..... gotcha.... the journey continues.....

I think this is where the issue is. They told me the location code was not valid. Samsung does not count the xfinity location code as a gear s2 redemption but only a VR. I argued with them that it is an online order through Verizon still and they offered me 200 dollar e certificates for each line to use on samsungs website.

Could be the issue, but when I called in the 1st time after getting the email, they checked the location code and said it was valid for the S2. Still haven't called back in yet after being on hold for an hour then the line getting dropped last week.

I think that was what the person told me. That the e184001 or whatever code was invalid by Samsung.

Amazingly, their facebook page is more responsive.....

I called verizon and they have no idea what PL is talking about.

I replied to PL what i'm hearing from verizon and within 10 mins, here's what they said - "To provide further information pertaining to this, the location code found on your receipt is the information we cross reference when confirming your eligibility for the Gear S2 watch offer. We reference the location code with eligible codes provided by the Verizon team that manages this promotion. Again we do want to apologize for the delay as we continue to investigate this, but want to confirm we will follow up with you directly when we receive the update."

PL told me i'll receive an update by the end of the week. Hopefully, between the verizon customer service that's looking into it and PL, i'll get a definite response this week......meh...doubtful...

I've been getting the same message from them via a twitter PM - I posted my tale of woe on a different thread, but basically submitted March 9th then got the email saying I was only getting the VR because it wasn't an online and/or business purchase. GOt a VR in the mail unannounced a little over a week ago.

"our team informed us they have met with Verzion and Samsung regarding the location issue. While it is not yet finialized, they want to let you know we will have a resolution sometime next week that will be very helpful. As soon as we have this, we will follow up with you and confirm"

This morning I called in to Prize Logic after last week an agent telling me to call back if I did not see my status changed to shipped on the Samsung Promotions check status website(since it would be 8 weeks). Also, I decided to call in because I received an email from Samsung to "Active my Gear S2". I was informed by the agent today that I do not qualify for the offer, lol. This is after Verizon, and prize logic numberous times told me my location code is legitimate. I am so lost as what to do. I wanted to escalate to a supervisor but I had to go to work. Do I just hope and pray for a shipment? Should I call Verizon? This whole process is extremely ridiculous as a business operation. I just feel like I am getting the runaround.

For those of you that got stiffed out of the s2 watch, and lied to about location codes, no more s2's in Stock, etc, have you told your carrier the only reason you upgraded to the s7 was because of the watch offer? And that if they can't make good on a promise, how can you make good on your future payments to them? Try rattling a few cages at your carriers customer service number, ask for the retention dept., ask for a manager, hint at switching carriers, let them know your not happy with how they lied to you just to "con" you into buying a new phone. If all else fails, you could tell them your thinking of signing up for the "class action " you have heard about! ;-)

A package delivered via FedEx and left at door just an hour after I left for work. It will be sitting there for several hours till I get off. It said 0.9 lbs, so sounds as if this is my S2. I submitted late March and was approved 4/7. I also bought my phone outright from Verizon's site.
