Getting a Galaxy Fold?

Well would you?
Preorder is now live and so on, would you even consider dropping around 2k for a device you haven't even seen/held yet?
Personally I will be waiting for an s-pen version before even considering anything than the Note series
With the reports out the past 48 hours, who wouldn't want a phone that lasts 2 days? Only 1k a day!

After reading the first reports, I see the fold as a first generation and a wait and see approach is needed, specially at that price. The S10 series FPS experience should show most that first generation isn't always the best idea. I know I would not want $2,000 tied up in something that doesn't work right. I'll sit back, let other people weed out the issues and maybe get the second or third generation if it gets that far. If the first generation is all that, the time that info comes out, there will be better deals out there saving me money.

So I'll sit back and eat my popcorn and enjoy the show on the sideline this time.

I wonder how many edits will happen in many threads from hopeful and or glowing praise posts before yesterday

People hate on it because they cannot really afford it and have to justify why they wouldn't want it anyway. Samsung should be praised for pushing the boundaries.

I'm glad they are pushing the boundaries. I'm just not going to spend $2,000 on a first generation product that already has issues, whether it's because the screen protector thing was taken off or not. The worse thing that will happen, it will be a great product and I'll get it later when the price drops, it always does after preorder crazy time.

With that said, I am pretty sure I'm not going to like the front screen being that small, after all that will be the one that gets used the most. The smaller front screen is probably the biggesr thing I have against it minus the known issues of the inside screen and stuff getting under the protective covering of inside screen. That will improve in generation 2,3, or later.

Go back to generation 1 of the note or the S series. They had issues also, but they didn't come at a cost of $2,000. They were a couple hundred dollars or so, maybe less. That's a huge difference of taking a gamble.

So for me, it's not just hating on it, it's being patient and keeping a watchful eye on it.

That's just not true....maybe some can't afford it, but most of in here that change phones every 6 months don't have any affordability issue. Additionally, expressing one's opinion is not hate. Sounds more like some people are defending their decision to purchase and can't stand anyone critiquing the device. You don't have to like or agree with the criticism. If you're happy with your decision that's all that matters.

On a payment plan from my carrier I'd get one as I can overlook the price. However my carrier isn't selling them. I think they will be in limited supply though so I don't have much hope of picking one up in a few months. I would need to buy new as I would want a warranty and insurance as it's very fragile.

How can you over look the price on a payment program? It's still $2,000+ that you have to pay for the phone, or $82.50 a month for 2 years.

I'm pretty sure if the payment programs were taken away and people had to hand over hard cash, phone sales would plummet. I'll be curious if the carriers require more down at this price point or if they do zero down yet. I do know with Verizon you are only approved for a set amount that you can finance.

I bow to all the early adopters who are giving Samsung the green light to push ahead. You are all unsung heroes!!!

Would love one...but the sacrifices (no water proof, no s-pen, plastic screen, no headphone jack, no sd card) are too much.

When that beautiful beast gets all the above up to par with the current slabs I'm running to the store!!!
