Gingerbread Fixes -Maintenance Release

Updated about 8 AM Eastern (standard, daylight? Heck if I know). Went well. Have the cute traffic widget mentioned on another thread. Will play today and see if there's anything different.

Traffic widget came in the original GB update. I have not updated to the latest update and I have it.

the pandora widget disappeared after the update.

also while playing a song in google music phone restarted and wallpaper reset to stock. random and could not repeat this bug. hope it does not happen again

app icons still reverting to default android icon after reboot.

overall update is working fine. waiting for netflix to come back to the market because i deleted it last update.

Right at bedtime last night it asked me if I wanted to to download the fix and I hit cancel because I wanted to have a fully charged phone before downloading. Now this morning when I go to check for updates, it tell me that my phone is up to date, but it isn't. How do I get the new update?

Try Rebooting your phone, that works "Most" of the time.

Download went fine. Not being a Netflicks user, I didn't have the usual bugs that everyone else did. The only issue I had after the original update was worse battery time. Seems to be an issue only for us with the 3500 extended batteries. Too ealy to tell if this update helps with that, but I doubt it.

I'm downloading the maintenance update now. The update option just popped up.. Dallas, Tx

Netflix now works on my Evo. I downloaded the Netflix application last night. Email attachments also show properly now.

Seems like the Compass issue is fixed based on my testing. But could somebody else verify.

Compass issue fixed for me. Went into Google sky to check and it didn't work until I waved the phone around in a horizontal circle several times.

Will check the Voice search / voice to text functions in the car with background noise on the way to work. This issue is my biggest gripe about the gingerbread update.

All my previous rebooting, icon issues and other weird issues were already resolved after I reset my phone to default last week. (after the first GB update)

Why can't they get it right?

Hi all! I installed the maintenance update this morning and Sense has rebooted twice: one exiting the Market and the one exiting the web browser.

Cannot say if Netflix works because I can't get the app from the market.

IMO, HTC and/or Sprint should have a QA/QC check on these OSs. Most of the problems we are finding are so obvious that can be caught and fixed before releasing to the public. What blows my mind away is how they make millions and can't even get a OS to work properly.

The Netflix app was on the market yesterday because HTC was suppose to release the patch to fix it. Well when they didn't by early afternoon, and people leaving negative comments and one stars for the app on the market Netflix pulled it off again. I say expect it back by end of tomorrow.

No root is available yet for 2.3 Gingerbread, should have rooted while you could on 2.2 Froyo.

Let this be a lesson to let other people update and wait to see all of the bugs that it has. Hold out on a major update like a android version update.

Any word on a fix for Pandora with the GB update/MR

Hi Guys, This is really not a big deal, but Pandora takes a long time to load a song ever since the GB update a couple of weeks ago. I thought the maintenance release might fix that issue but it's still taking way too long. My fix has been to use Slacker which I'm now starting to like better. I'm still curious if anyone else is having this problem since today's MR. Thanks for your help.

Is it really worth updating?
The issued that worries me the most seems to be the amount of
memory Gingerbread seems to take up after the update,
And also IMO?
Seems to be using alot of resources when running? Resulting in)
force closes. With Froyo I have had only a hand full of
Force closures ever since I got the Evo.

I don't know if this is a unique problem, but after the updated update, my phone won't receive a call if the screen is locked. But if I unlock the screen, it will ring and receive the call. Anyone else?

I would just take the plunge, root your phone and get decks rom which is based on 2.3.4 and everything works besides an issue with Google navigation but tele navigation works on this rom (stock sprint navigation) If you update you lose the ability to root and might get plagued with all these issues being brought up.

try unchecking "Fast Boot" and then do a Restart.

I don't think compass issue is fixed completely. Both Google Sky and compass apps gave me different results every time!
