Gingerbread is here.

I was hoping to get the improved cut and paste from Gingerbread in this update but I don't see it. Does HTC Sense have a cut and paste method that overrides the default Gingerbread cut and paste?

Yep. You have been using it since Froyo.

Thanks adr my data is solid now, no cut outs yet, nice being able to just use my phone. You da man

are any of you guy backing up device before hitting the OTA?

is it recommended/necessary?
I did. Just prior. But if you have to restore you'll have to be careful what you restore onto GB. If you go all the way back to Froyo should be easy.

All recent BAMF versions have a patch ready,

Adrynalyne,

Are you the same AD from the Omnia forum a few years back?.

But, I digress.....I have the BAMF ROM, if I am not mistaken, that doesn't come with the Radios right?. I can flash the ROM and then the RADIO that is listed on Android Police's page (the official HTC Radio leak), right?

No update here in western Oregon but we are always the last to get everything. No problem though... I realize I'm in the minority but my TB works perfectly just the way it is. I have had absolutely NO problems whatsoever and really hope the new update doesn't screw everything up the way the OTA update did on my Incredible. (To be fair though, VZ did give me a brand new Incredible.) Since they force you to update whether you want to or not, I have no say in the matter anyway. :(

With age, comes patience...

Yep. I am the only Adrynalyne on the Internet ;)

Go to teambamf.net and look at the Radios! thread. Last one in the list is latest. Put on sdcard, boot to hboot and flash it.

GB Updated this am did a OTA Check and there it was.... took forever to install though lol..... no to root or not..... :D

I used your ROM's on my OMNIA....awesome. In fact, I fired up the OMNIA last night because my son wanted a video camera and his phone doesn't have video...only pictures.

AD.....my hboot/bootloader says its LOCKED. How can I get around that?

You can't. It says its Locked because it has support for HTC to unlock it....Verizon willing.

That said, Revolutionary will/should still be ablew to gain s-off.

just updated. i removed battery, turned on, and on the 3rd time checking for update it finally found it and started DLing again. DLed much quicker than i expected. it forced data on (1x in my office) but had to have DLed over wifi.

must say...i do like the changes so far, but it's definitely underwhelming. still looks 95% the same but may be a little snappier.

we waited 6 months for this???

Strange, before I went to bed last night, around 10pm eastern, I checked for the update and found nothing. Woke up this morning and noticed the notification bar was different and then realized that the update downloaded and installed at around 1am.

I am surprised it downloaded and installed itself without even asking me.
I bet when you checked you were so used to seeing the "no update available" that your brain tricked you and you accepted the update. That's what happened to me. I checked before bed at around 10:30 and without thinking I just hit the notification that popped up and as I set the phone down I noticed it was downloading. I was too tired to mess with it and I woke up this morning with GB. Only after regaining my senses did I put 2 and 2 together.

My data is solid now, haven't really noticed a lot of changes, it does feel smoother tho.

Still waiting on the amazement of it. Nothing impresses me too much here. What was all the hullabaloo about this Gingerbread crap? I may have to start describing it as GingerDEAD. Not impressed at all folks. This is what everyone was waiting for? Have to say that MR2 made more of an impression that GingerDEAD to me

My TB is faster, smoother and the battery appears to be better than it was. It may not be a dramatic change, but i am quite happy with this update!

I have to say so far I have noticed a difference in functionality. It runs faster, doesn't hang as often, and seems more fluid. I have also noticed that my battery life is much improved. Battery at >80% after 9 hours off the charger and I have been playing with the thing all day. Also, found a little nugget. You can trick the phone into dock mode by searching for "dock" on the phone. Pretty nice little dock for bedside/desk use.

Suhweet.....is there a way to make a widget for that....it would be nice not to have to search for it all the time!

I like the pictures it displays.....not any of mine....the nature scenes.
