Gingerbread ready for Incredible 2 WOW?

I'm rooted and I'M PISSED!!!! This is just the worse business etiquette from Verizon I have ever seen. What the Hell happened to "first come, first served"?!

This is nothing against our Droid Incredible 2 friends, congrats on obviously makin the right choice in phone.

That is the main reason I have not gotten into a 4G device. A store manager friend of mine has admitted there are issues that need to be resolved with the 4G network as well as the devices. I also think Verizon should be giving those who have issues some kind of credit on their bill. That would be giving good customer service to their Thunderbolt users. You would think they would do all they could to resolve the problems and sooner than they have. They should be working on the quirks before extending the network to more cities. It is in my area, was one of the first. I am not in any hurry to jump over to the 4G. I have perfect call quality and my Original Incredible is working just fine. But to those who have issues, I really do think Verizon should do something.

That's why I call Verizon every month since the reboot issues started to make sure I get a credit. It is a stupid problem that my phone resets while I am using it and I will not take it. So until they fix it, they will lose money on me every month.

could be on a blackberry with no random reboots just manual battery pulls and waiting 15 minutes for it to boot back up 5 or 6 times a day

Makes me more glad that I sold mine this week. I had had enough.

I'm not TOO upset. Maybe they planned on releasing GB to the TB first, but they've run into issues, and they don't want a repeat with the reboot issues. They're not going to hold the Incredible 2's update just so that the TB gets it first.

why did u all get the tb in the 1st place? thought you would be cool? hell relax its just a damn phone and it will be updated in time many of you dont even know how a phone works its way more complicated than the dinc 2....i just got the damn phone for the hell of it only person that knows i have it is my gf and shes jealous i hate her iphone

I'm not surprised this dropped before the T-bolt update. The Incredible 2 is a non-LTE phone. It probably didn't take much work to get the update ready where as they have some larger 4g bugs to squash for the T-bolt.

I agree with you Shryne, but still, we can ignore the fact that this is disappointing news for some Thunderbolt owners.

prolly so, I would rather them get it right this time rather them rush it, but I would like to know they are working on it like a bunch of adderall kids cramming for finals, ya know

This and the fact that the Incredible 2 is essentially the Incredible S which has had Gingerbread for a while. The Incredible's Gingerbread update has probably been in the oven longer than the Thunderbolt's.

I am blown away by this. Not to drag this topic out but the EVO was technically the first 4g phone in America. Whether or not you consider wimax 4g doesn't matter. The point was it was a brand new network that was not the same and had a separate radio and the freaking evo got updates like a spoiled kid in a candy store with no reboots and dropped connections that were not caused by poor coverage. This is just beyond me how lazy they are with this phone. I understand the issues to work out but the software it came with had no reboots so they should know how to keep that form happening!!

Honestly I think they are having trouble with all the 4G handsets and this is why the Bionic is now on hold. I don't think you will see updates for awhile or until they can get the phones to work properly and consistently on the LTE network. Did you see they are now offering refurb bolts for $200? Can you imagine how many were returned for them to make such a National offer and still have plenty for regular replacements???

currently the Droid Charge is the flagship device. if it doesn't say Droid its a second class player on VZW
This is absolutely outragous!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Our Bolts have been out longer, supposed 4G flagship phone, and we can't even get fixed let alone gingerbread!!!!!!!!!:mad::mad::mad::mad:

The software update is already on the Verizon site!! Build Number: 1.70.605.0 Baseband: 1.39.00.0613w, 0.01.69.0613w_1,
for your ThunderBolt™ by HTC.

The incredible 2 doesn't run on 4G LTE. So it's hard to compare gingerbread radios. Personally I am running stock but you always have the option to root if you want the latest gingerbread.
LTE and eHRPD, unlike any other phone on Verizon's new network. And, as someone else said, the Dinc2 is just an upgraded Dinc. If it weren't for all the radio issues, I think we would already have GB. People need to chill, GB ain't no big thing anyway.

Actually, it is a big thing considering only the security updates included. If one were to add the other "enchancements" Gingerbread is really a better version. Iam not very upset, I gave my wife my old Facinate partly because of the snail like updates from Verizon...she doesnt care, she just wants it to work. Well, I had 2 reboota after the update and said I'm not going to wait for Verizon. Call it wisdom or impatience but, I learned my lesson. The manugacturers are getting better with the updates:p We as the early adopters and geek types seem to want everything yesterday because thats how we think. Hopefully this phone will become the second coming soon as many hoped it would be upon release. I'm still happy with it, its faster in certain aspects than my Samsung was, yet slower in others. Overall, I'm happy with it and patiently await a good update. Until then, BAMF FOR LIFE FOOL! or at least root then the next great rom.
