Give some reasons to get the Nexus over the rezound?

Reasons to get it over the Rezound...

ICS right now

Faster updates

If you like colors and blacks more than sharpness. Better out door viewing. Although at normal viewing distances it will be a wash for sharpness. Both have nice screens, neither is better overall.

After using both....thats what I've come up with. For other things they are about even so its not even worth saying the G Nex or Rezound is better at it. The Rezound I believe does have better battery life tho.

Better display samoled hd > s-lcd
Better ap ti omap> snapdragon s3
Better memory dual channel > single channel
More L2 cache 1mb >512kb
Better sound quality ti dac> whatever htc is using to make up with beats gimmik
ICS
LESS SAR rating

Rezound got brighter camera lens and better reception with 2x SAR

About the reception part...What I experienced:

Phone reception between the 2 were about even....which was nothing to brag about. Data reception went to the Rezound. But my Rezound keeps getting stuck in 1x in weak areas, and I have to reboot it to fix it. My G Nex never did that, it just had weaker reception than my Rezound. Thats one reason why I said most everything else, they were about even it wasnt worth saying the Rezound or G Nex was better. I could try to exchange my Rezound...but I just dont even care at this point. Kinda mad at myself getting caught up in the new wave of phones...I shoulda just stuck to what I knew best.

I agree with everything else or will just take your word on it.... Its just a lil on the technical side...lol. The OMAP is nice performance and battery wise...but I think that Snapdragon in the Rezound is nice for battery life, considering its running at 1.5Ghz.

I dont really like Sense UI. It was my first Sense phone and comparing it to the RAZR and G Nex..I dont like it. LOTS of extra features and eye candy...but I dont like it...lol. The RAZR Maxx review Anandtech did might shock some ppl with the Rezounds battery life.

I was deciding between the those 2 phones. The reason I finally choose the Nexus was no bloatware.

How about that sedio battery 3800 battery? The reason I am concerned about battery life is I work 12 hour shifts and sometimes it's a bit hard to get on a charger. My HTC incredible gets 12 hours no problem and I use it quite a bit on breaks to text and play a few games etc.

I just went through a bunch of threads and see that this phone has some issues that bothers me (reboots on incoming calls, getting stuck on 1x and poor speaker volume) I'm thinking my better choice may be the rezound, due to ICS is just so new and I don't need issues like this. Nexus does look like nice eye candy, but the I'm more leaning to the rezound for now.

When I look at the top phones on Verizon, the Rezound is always at the bottom of the list. I would much rather have a Motorola Droid Razr or Razr Maxx than a Rezound.

Luckily, though, I have a Galaxy Nexus in a strong LTE area, so...

I've had the GN since launch and only issues, if you can call them that are speaker volume and occasional rebooting. Which I narrowed down the latter to Pandora on wifi. Hasn't rebooted since the recent update. To answer the OP, I can't start to compare the thunderbolt to the GN. Speed, features, superior screen etc... The rezound is sans nfc, ics (Yes its getting it but will still have some bloat), enormous dev support. As for looks, gorgeous screen on the GN, doesn't have any of the tramp stamp logos on the screen and no physical buttons..

So no issues now with calls being lost and rebooting now? Is anything that can be done about speaker volume?

no rebooting issues now either? How about the market is everything the same as with HTC phones? Can I transfer my bought apps to the nexus?

You can use volume plus or equalizers in the app market both of them works really good I personally use equalizer. The sound quality on the phone is absolutely terrific I can go on and on about how great the samsung galaxy nexus is compared to any phone. Pc world named this phone is the best phone out right now! You can look it up just google it. Every phone has their strengths and weaknesses. But this phone has a ton of springs and after the 4.4 update this phone has a lot of good times to look forward to.

I haven't gotten any random reboot a in a long time. I only had two the first month I bought it. Right now I'm rocking update 4.0.4 and volume and radio signal has been improved in IMO.

I had a Thunderbolt (my very first smartphone), and while I liked it, there were a lot of little things about it that I just wish were different (and/ or better). Eventually, I got gutsy enough to root and switch to CM7, and it was a bit better, but I always disliked the idea of having to root and run modified software just to remedy all the little things about Sense/ Android 2.3 that I wanted to change. The appealing thing about the Nexus, to me, was that it remedied all those "little things", without me having to root or install custom ROMs.

Granted, I have no experience with the Rezound. It seems like a nice enough phone, if you don't mind Sense (and/ or plan to root). But I just don't think you can beat the "pure" Google/ Android experience of the Nexus. Honestly, I don't think I could ever own a non-Nexus phone, from here on out (so I'm praying Verizon gets another one; either that, or Motorola starts making stock Android phones once Google takes over).

Not to mention, the Nexus will probably still be better, in terms of software updates and fixes than a non-Nexus phone (even if we're not getting updates every other week, like some people seem to unrealistically expect). And, if you'd rather root, I think Nexus phones will always have huge dev communities. The Rezound community will probably start to dry up once the next major HTC phone is released.
