My Gmail is not syncing my mail unless I open the app and refresh it. Any ideas? Worked fine on my s10+.

I'm having the same issues. I made sure there were no battery optimization settings set on the gmail app and I made sure all the system gmail notifications were set to Sound and Pop Up but I still don't get notifications for new emails and they populate into the app after I open it or sometimes there will be bunch already there but I never new they came in. I think I remember a thread like this in the S10 group but I never paid attention to it if there was a fix since I wasn't having the issue.

Actually, after making sure all the notifications were setup properly to Sound and Pop-Up I did a force close of the gmail app and restarted of my phone and now everything seems to be working now. I'm getting notifications for all new emails that come in.

I just checked, and there's an update for the Gmail app. It's downloading now. I would think this should address the issue, but we'll have to see

I installed the latest update to the Gmail app. Double checked my settings. Rebooted. I'm still having issues with new emails not showing up right away. I have to manually refresh or sometimes they'll just randomly come in all at once in batches, but some of them were sent by the sender almost an hour ago.

I really need this to be fixed!

Ok I think I found it. Go to settings, search for Optimize Battery Usage. In the list change it to All and search for Gmail and turn it Off. I thought I did this the other day but I guess not. Seems to have fixed it.
