Called another Version store display yes ok drive 20min to store ,girl says no display you want to pre-order? another employee steps up and points me to the Pixel 2 display ,first employee says she was on vacation and just got back not aware of what's up but still wants to sell me a phone.
Enjoyed viewing the phones and left happely knowing im not a Verizon coustomer and would half to deal with to that.
Unrelated to purchasing and using a phone on a different network of course.

Finally got to see them both today at my local Verizon. Both of them were pretty impressive. Side by side, the muted colors are noticeable, but I was drawn to the XL first and before i held them side to side I was quite impressed. Next to my Nexus6P, it wasn't much of a down step at all. The rep said the phone has been there and screen-on 24/7 for over a week (granted, it defaults back to the demo mode which potentially acts as a screensaver). I downloaded a white and a grey image and neither showed burn in of the notification bar or launcher buttons when blown up full screen. It was enough to make me switch my order (yet again) back to the XL. If anyone from Google is watching my account, they certainly think I am insane at this point.

Secondly, the regular Pixel was way more impressive than I expected. If the XL ends up being the quality control trainwreck we're all expecting, it won't break my heart AT ALL to have to downgrade to the normal Pixel2.

I would stay away from Verizon if I were you. I have a tablet with Verizon that I had to keep finding in to be fixed. When my contract was up I changed to T-Mobile and I even ported my phone number so my Verizon account should have been deactivated. However they are now claiming that I made telephone calls on my Verizon account in January through April even though the only phone I used was my T-Mobile phone with my T-Mobile SIM card. I don't know how this happened but they are very difficult to work with.
