Going for a Note 9 yes/no

Not this time. I like even numbers. No just kidding, The note 8 is still all the phone I will need .

No. My Galaxy Note 8 is still a very good Phone. My only problem is with battery life but I can manage it by using a battery pack. Waiting for S10!

while you are all talking about getting the note 9 i'm waiting on a note 8 brand new that I ordered for around £500-£600, I don't care if its out of date as long as its faster than my Blackberry Bold 9790 which i think it might just be :P

so no I won't be going with the 9, I was considering it but there appears to be only slight improvements with all the hype on the s10 (or sX if you will) and I imagine the price would be that to top the iphone X so I believe I've made a smart move, what do you guys think?

You will LOVE the Note 8 anyway, as much as I want a Note 9 I know I don't NEED it and I won't be preordering anyway

I'm doing my best to only buy 1 flagship a year.
With the PixelXL3 , Mate 20 Pro etc coming just after the Note 9 , it's going to be hard.:)

Unless a dump truck runs over my Note8, I'm keeping it. It works fine and offers more funtionality than I actually use. I'm a tech junkie but only to a point. It's the only phone with the S-pen so I plan to stay with the Note series...unless Samsung screws that up, then I may look around some. For now, I really like my Note8 and have no plans to replace it until maybe next year, if then.

Nope no reason unless you need the latest and greatest. The note 8 will go at least another two or more years for me.

I'm still on the fence Note 9 looks good but my Note 8 has been faultless since I bought it last September.
As I'm on the Samsung upgrade program I can either keep the Note 8 and it's mine next year or trade it in for the Note 9 and start the process again, hmmmm ??????

in that case I would be getting the Note 9.
BUT in my case it is also the reason I might not get it as I ended up using my upgrade last year to get a second Note 8 through my provider/carrier when my pre-ordered unlocked/unbranded one had to go in for repair and Samsung said 10-12 days which I just couldn't wait for that

There's no reason for me to upgrade to the 9. My Note8 is doing fantastic and hasn't let me down yet. I may upgrade to the 10, depending on how that will turn out, but other than that my Note8 is a keeper

Heck no. It's not worth the price unless I can get it for hundreds less I doubt I will be buying a phone again. I'm not poor by any means but $1000 for this is too expensive. My gaming rig doesnt even cost anywhere near that and it's a Ryzen 2700X.

Now let's day they offered a trade in program then maybe but I'm still paying on this one technically. Another thing is that this phone is just awesome so no reason to upgrade atm. I also dont think the snapdragon 845 is that much better. Battery life is awesome on this also.

Now when I buy stuff I look for ROI. Whether that is money or quality of life improvements depends on the situation but I'm just getting older and less inclined to upgrade all the time. Most of all I miss that "new device" feeling which I don't think the note 9 would give me but closer to release I will know. Not to mention half the places I go have no cell service. I would be nice to have these lackluster American telcos get there coverage act together.

I just received an insurance replacement a week ago. Seems a little like a new phone. Some minor differences I've noticed like Google Play drop down notification and a couple of other things I can't remember at the moment moment. Maybe it was timing with the Google play app. Seems weird it would look different as soon as I get a new new phone .
I could see myself hanging onto this phone for another 6 months.

Well with the 512gb/8gb RAM version rumoured to be 1279 Euro (1492 USD) I'm looking even less likely to get one now :'(
Even a rumour going that they might cancel the Note 9 now

My Note 8 is doing great, it's the first Note phone for me actually, I've always used the S line from the GS4 to the GS7 edge.
I'll definitely check the Note 9 and see what it brings to the table, but...
Price will be the main issue I guess, I have a wife and 2 kids, a phone isn't a priority for me.

Yes! I'm rocking an S7 (with a cracked screen) due to the Note 7 fiasco and the Note 8 didn't seem like enough of an upgrade so I'm due and the Note 9 is looking very good to me. That's not saying I won't do the Note 10 (Note X) if it is something really compelling.

Yes, definitely getting the Note 9. The bigger battery and FPS placement is definitely a plus for me. I hope they add stereo speakers like the S9+.

I'm a proud Note8 owner and I've decided not to go for the 9. I believe the s10 and note10 will be the game changers we Samsung fans have been waiting for.

I'm on Tmobile, and talk is that Band 71 is coming real soon on our local tower. If the Note9 has Band 71, wife and I are upgrading both of our Note8 devices.

This is the only reason I would upgrade my phone, the note 8 has been great and I’m planning to continue using it, but i definitely would need to upgrade if the newer phone have the new bands that tmobile acquired.

But as of right now, the note 8 is great.
