Going raw dog with the Note 3

I'm thinking of removing my glass screen protector on my Note 3. I don't like the halo and the screen just doesn't seem to have the clarity, brightness or sharpness of a bare screen. Also the protector seems to smudge easily!
I know that Gorilla Glass 3 is tough but how tough?
What are your thoughts of going naked? Your experiences?

I have had nothing, no case or screen protector on mine for 6 months now. No issues, drop a couple of times.
