Going to iPhone6?

My mother owns the 5c and I have owned a nexus 5..... The 5c was "faster"

I was the one who bought it for her on ebay and used it a bit before giving it to her

Thanks for thinking your anecdotal experience as facts.

Well then, your not wanting to believe the truth.
I'll bet my nexus is as fast if not faster then the iPhone. Besides the fact andrios is a better os.

Better is subjective.... The iPhone 5c was faster then my nexus 5...

Then can anyone here care to explain my observation from a few days ago?

My friend was trying to show me a few photos on her Note 3 phone. It took 3 taps on the photos icon to bring her to the gallery. Then it took a very long time for the preview images to render. Scrolling through the photos was laggy and choppy. When she tapped on a photo to enlarge it, there was no indication that her tap was being processed, then when she tried to scroll elsewhere, the gallery app just froze awkwardly for a split second before the photo zoomed in.

This is Android being "as smooth as iOS"?

This is like 'weather vs. climate' debates.... You know someone whose note was messed up, sorry to hear that.

Look, it's well known that Apple makes good use of transitions and cached screens to smooth out their os. But independent reviews that tested stuff objectively and in a controlled manner did not have the 5s (never mind the slower 5c) and iOS 7 as the top ranked.... That isn't to say it was slow, it just wasn't the fastest or 'smoothest'... Let it go.. Move on.

When you put a skin on top of the vanilla android it causes lag, especially touchwiz

Samsung devices have known to have a laggy Gallery app and really? That is what you use as basis for this argument? We need hard facts not a Samsung device lagging on the Gallery app.

I haven't seen any evidence of iOS being faster than 4.2 android and beyond, however iOS does have slightly smoother transitions. One are where iOS is faster than android is in portrait/landscape rotation redraw speeds

I'm definitely considering the next iPhone, only as a companion device though, not necessarily as one to replace my android phone. The bigger screen is the most appealing part probably, as well as some improvements to iOS 8. I don't know though, still thinking.

I pre ordered the unlocked t mobile iPhone 6 plus and will use it on ATT. I left iPhone when Steve Jobs told me I was holding it wrong. I always planned to get another iPhone once the screen sizes increased. I have an iPhone 5 for work and I curse the small screen but it is a very capable device. Still have tons of apple gear for me and the family. Not leaving Android. Keeping my Nexus 5 and selling my OPO to get a 2014 Moto X. My Lumia is getting sold and I will go with iOS over WP. I love the size of my OPO which is 5.5 but it has a few bugs that I know iPhone will not have.

One thing I like is no bloatware on an apple device as well as regular updates. Not to mention I can get almost all the google apps I use and need on iOS including Google Wallet. I was pretty amazed at how many apps google makes for iOS!

Looking forward to a new iPhone and Moto X!

Just curious, why did you get the T-Mo iPhone 6 over the ATT one? Is it cheaper?

I keep reading this all over/other forums. What exactly is the problem with iTunes?

Being a Mac user, I don't get it because you can either Sync your library or if you want (don't know why you would) you can drag & drop.

Mainly at time it destroyed my neatly organized music library to code it into apple's iTunes.. Pissed me off!!!

No, the only way to preorder a ATT model on Apple.com was a full or partial subsidy or make payments with Next. My upgrade is not till next March and the partial is only $200 off or $650 for an additional 2 year contract. Just decided it was easier to pay off contract since I had a $350 Apple gift card from a return years ago and only T mobile offered that. Coming from Apple directly it should be unlocked so I can use it for ATT.

Oh, OK. Makes sense 👍

No. That is Android-slowed-down-by-touchwiz. You have not experienced android...you've experienced Samsung's polluted version of Android.

This is real Android:

My Nexus is actually faster than the one in this video. This video was taken last year, prior to the Kitkat updates.

Which improvements in iOS8 are not already present in Android?
