Google bans Huawei:Are you worried?

Like Google, Facebook, etc etc isn't closely connected with the US Deep State!

I once considered a Huawei laptop but as far as I could tell they had almost no service, tech support, or quality control in the USA so I nixed that plan. Instead I bought a Lenovo - which is also a Chinese company!

Chinese tech, heck, even Android isn’t much of a thing in the US where everyone has an iPhone.

Speaking of which, Apple is going to suffer (again) in China...not because of their poor value for money but this time for the actions of their Government...not surprising.

Re: Huawei has immediately lost access to Android and Google

The cameras are really quite amazing actually and the speed of the cpu playing games is also noticeably faster.

It's such a wonderful phone. I've heard everything about it is very snappy.

Yes it sure shows whose for and against. And GOOGLE has clearly drawn the line in the sand. Is GOOGLE scared of a hefty fine if they continue supplying "product" to Huawei? So it seems that the US Gov is trying to control these giant American corp at the financial and political level. What better way to control companies than by their jugulars. Why is the US gov going this far trying to bring down a Chinese corp. While inducting billion dollar losses in sales globally with companies that have business ties to Huawei? Huawei clearly uses American parts such as chips, and radios. Why is the US gov going to this extent? It seems after the ZTE affair, the US got scared and now backlashing?

Google doesn't have much of a choice

My recently-bought P30 is a thing of beauty but I'll soon be going back to my Pixel 2 once/if my Huawei sells!

I want it! LOOL. But I think I will get the S10e in the next six months or so. It depends on how long my Pixel 2 lasts. I've noticed a bigger drop in battery life over the past month or two - very sad! Especially since I'm conscious of how I charge it (though I know it's probably the age of the phone that's causing the dip, not the battery charging lifestyle).

The value of Huawei phones has dropped dramatically here in the UK, especially at second hand/trade-in values. The P30 Pro’s trade in value is only a couple/few hundred pounds according to some sites >_<

And you can get the Mate 20 Pro for 580 pounds on Amazon as well!

If you’re not fussed about future software updates this could great :)

For me it depends if and when Rogers Wireless launches 5G devices, most likely I'll switch out of my P30 Pro.i rely on Google services quite heavily and it they get cut that won't work for me.

And Rogers and Fido are the only two carriers that sell Huawei in Canada, correct?

I find it funny when U.S are worried about Huawei/China spying on them with their hardware meanwhile we got this in U.S

Well I mean if you think about it logically -- is a GOV going to ban itself from doing stuff? No. I am not saying it is right but governments all do shady dumb stuff but they aren't going to ban themselves -- it wouldn't make sense.

Such as if we flipped the coin and somehow had this type of equipment in China and they thought we were spying they would do anything to stop it even though China is the #1 country on spying on their own people.

I don't see the comparison. That's a college professor running an experiment unless I'm missing something.

tbf the US has already been caught spying on foreign and domestic citizens

What gets me is that Trump has nothing on Huawei.

This could easily be Samsung or Sony

So the US Government is scared and doesn’t like Huawei 5G tech. Fair enough, they’re not the only ones. However, I do find it ironic how the American people are also so anti-China/Huawei they forget how to form an argument. They say things like “Huawei is stealing all our data, don’t buy their phones!”. The whole trade war ban issue here has nothing to do with their phones...their mobile business is just collateral damage.

What’s even more ironic is that those people willingly give up their data to Facebook ._.

I don't believe students were not informed that's the problem again the gov has done worse and still denies spying on their own people (Snowden)

Go to YouTube and watch the 20 minute video called HUAWEI 60 MINUTES. This explains what Huawei did do wrong, back in 2012 in America. I don't think anyone is saying that their cell phones could spy on people, but their broadband equipment can.

Microsoft? I don't think there OS is revolutionary

It was at the time when they invested in it.. Still has alot more OS customization then current google that expects an additional app to achieve things Microsoft had embedded into there operating systen
