I see a Marshall amp in that picture. What do you play?
Yeah super dark will give you a noisy grainy picture. It's pretty used to give you "something decent" in really dark environments. Night sight works great in dimmed lights like at a bar, restaurant or night scenery shots.Thank you for the link! I installed it, followed all of the instructions on the Reddit page, and it actually works!
Not sure how much of a difference it will make, as you'll see in the 2 pics I took below, one with stock Galaxy camera on my s9+ and then one with this Gcam port. The one where there was some light, there didn't seem to be much of a difference. The one with almost no light it definitely made a difference, but the resulting picture was very grainy and blotchy. Extreme use case I know, so I'd have to try it in more of a real scenario, like taking pictures of lit buildings at night.
Anyway, I probably won't do much more with this particular install since my s10 is arriving Friday, so this s9+ will be getting wiped by this weekend for sending back for the credit. But a big, huge thank you to the folks that provided working links and instructions in this thread. This website generally has the most helpful people in the forums and it keeps me coming back on a regular basis.

I'm assuming this is meant to work with the S10 models only, and not an s9? I tried this on my s9+ (my s10 just shipped, arrives Friday) and it didn't work. Camera app just kept closing even after I followed all these steps and rebooted the phone.
If the answer is that it is meant for s10 only, I will definitely try it this weekend. Thanks for the links and instructions!
I don't suppose there's a way to have Night Sight be the default shooting mode when opening up Gcam is there? That's all I really want to use it for.
Can't do that with Pixel.... That would take some programming
Bummer, thought there may be an option similar to the S10s. Not sure if people noticed but you can start the camera on the S10 on the last mode you were using by going to camera settings>camera modes>keep using last mode (toggle on)
Nice! Did you change any of the settings? I wasn't sure because it's one less camera on the back.Using it on my S10e and works flawlessly![]()
Oh good point, no didn't change any setting. Anyway most likely will use for night shots.Nice! Did you change any of the settings? I wasn't sure because it's one less camera on the back.

Did mine, not impressed honestly. I dont see much difference other than gcam is darker vs the Samsung one. And I had nightlight turned on for gcam.

I agree. If you were trying to capture the natural look and shadows it's not the best choice.
This is why I no longer install software that isn't built for the hardware that I'm using.
