Google Maps Directions/Notifications

Is this a Coolwalk 'bug' or a horrible feature? Before the coat of paint to AA, if you sent Maps to the background while navigating, you would still see the general directions in the toolbar (kinda like the media controls) or get pop-ups for upcoming directions. Now after Coolwalk, you don't! If you have another app or media fully opened and Maps is in the background, it will still give you audible directions, but that's about it. Nothing in the toolbar, no pop up prompts, nada! If you turn audio guidance off, you're basically flying solo since you can't hear OR see navigation prompts.

Is this happening to everyone? Just me?

In Coolwalk, when maps is in the background because I go full screen to another app I get pop ups for any upcoming directions. I have audible directions turned off.

Welp, figured it out (but not sure WHY it started): Google Maps' notifications were disabled. Having used the very same app on the phone alone and still getting notifications, I am baffled. But hey, it works now!
