Question google message customize how you are seen

tonight when i was out open up google message i saw

google messages customize how you are seen<-i did look at the customize pic thing illustrations but didn't care about them and i'm not putting a device photo to choose from just have j and red circle

so i just click on continue as i do have discovery profile turn off btw umm if i go into your profile in app<-j purple circle i see message and i got it show name and picture to people just message

i'm not sure this is from last month or update from today has anybody seen this today or is it mine?

i read somebody in regedit saying This is only a warning if your Google login is different to your usual email/name. "Show name and picture to no-one

3 options are "People you message" or "Only your contacts" or "No-one". should i put it on no one or leave it as show name and picture to people you message?

I saw that feature for the first time a few days back. I had not been tracking about it or via what app update it arrived (or if it came by itself, without requiring an update per se).

Pick "no one" would be my suggestion, if you don't specifically want to additionally advertise more information than you have to.

I see it also never paid attention but Google regularly updates the app with new features, can set to your preferences.

well you know my main account hotmail/outlook basically gmail social media and stuff i don't have another gmail account

so you think i should just put it still on no one instead leaving it on people you message? i still don't understand logic behind this why google want to customize your screen with a pic of some sort ya know

so again despite got profile discovery turn off and i never added a pic i assumed folks are just seeing the letter j with purple circle not the my gmail red circle with j when send a message, in your humble opinion should i just leave it as people you message or no one<- does it matter so to speak

On one of my phones it's my business profile and other devices it's my picture

so what are they actually seeing since i have it people your message its the profile they are seeing j and purple circle right? unless i do 1 of those illustrations or add a real pic that is eh if i choose no one they won't see the j and purple circle

they aren't seeing the j red circle that just sign in google aka gmail eh i don't want it to just be contacts that's limited ya know

how can this be added if profile discovery is turn off i don't understand

its guess yours just on contacts only? its kindof sorry that search illustrations not that great i might put pic up then again i don't know get new phone end of month or not i never had pic when i was using samsung message btw
