And my wife, who I signed up right me got her invite shortly after mine, so we seem to have a simple FCFS invite system here. Which also means they are probably mostly concerned with scaling.

Just got my invite... and was shocked to see the boatload of free songs automagically included before I even started uploading! And I'm not talkin indie artist music either, some really good stuff there.

Piece of advice... select ALL the music categories when you first start your service. Sure some of the music may not be your preferred genre, but there's still some really good stuff there. You'll find yourself owning some quality tunes you didn't have before.

Started my upload last night at 10:30pm, this morning at 7:30am, 2500 of over 9000 songs were uploaded. Good thing I work a half day today, other wise I'd be at home pacing, constantly checking it! When you do get your invite, and start the upload, be patient.

My wife and I have about 3500 songs between us (she has a lot she needs to get from CD still), but almost all of her current collection is default riping from iTunes or older purchases, so they're fairly compressed. I, on the other hand, ripped all of my stuff from CD uncompressed, so they tend to be monster files (for music). My wife had all of her music upload in one night (a bit more than 1k songs) while after 17 hours I have 750 or so songs uploaded (I'm sure some have to be converted before they are sent).

But seriously, who could complain about that? I don't have to do a thing, the program uploaded the songs I listen to most first, so even after a couple hours I could listen to my favorite music, and the rest will get there over the next couple days.

I think this service is absolutely brilliant. I can't wait to be able to buy a project tungsten device!!!

Yeah, I haven't had a chance to mess with it. Shortly after it started to upload, I passed out, and am at work today from 7:30 to noon. I cant wait to get home and learn my way around it.

You know you can start playing them right away, right? You couldn't listen to all 9000 of your songs today anyways, so just play the ones that are uploaded (it uploads the ones you listen to the most first, so it shouldn't be too rough on your listening habbits).

I put together a decent playlist after the first couple hundred songs were uploaded.

I'm anal, CDO (like ocd, only the letter are in alphabetical order), I prefer to let things finish before I start using them. Yes, I'm strange, my wife tells me that often. LOL

Fair enough, use it however you prefer. I just wanted to make sure you where making an informed choice.

Finally done uploading. 9200 songs took about 38 hours straight! I am quite impressed so far, very simple to use, and navigate. It also imported my playlists, just the ones I made, not the crappy preloaded to i*unes ones. Now, what about buying mp3's through Google Music? I'm assuming that is in the works for future versions.

they have to secure cooperation from the record labels before they can do that; something they werent able to do before this release.

That's way better than my connection. My upload speed sucks: I'm going on 48 hours of uploading and I've only managed to get 1597 of 8735 songs uploaded. My god, this will take forever...but it will be so worth it once it's completed.

I signed up an hour after and I'm still waiting for mine. If this is first come first serve I think I signed up too late. Or I could be freaking out for no reason...but who want's to be logical, not this guy

Don't complain about how long your upload is taking, most of us don't even have an invite.
