I think Google is promising but for now if I really need directions its gonna be Sprint

Google navigation has turn by turn with street names. Way better than sprint navigation.

Sprint Nav tells you the street names.

Anyone know how to get Google Nav to repeat a direction by tapping on the screen somewhere? Sprint Nav has that feature.

I said Google, but i have only used the sprint nav a few time on the palm pre. I have been using Google on the hero and I'm really liking it.

google nav has given me HORRIBLE directions! always wants me to take the long way..screw it...back to Telenav for me. My 6 year old Garmin is better than google nav!

I'm gonna have to go with Google NAV

About the only part of Sprint NAV I like anymore is the Arrival time (vs time till you arrive in Google NAV)

It depends on what you are looking for. If you are looking for a specific business, go with Google Nav. If you know where you are going already (have the address pre-populated), go with Sprint Nav. The traffic delay updates are nice. I do find it more difficult to search within Sprint Nav however.

Google Nav has been total fail for me. Always leaves me at the wrong place. I live in Jersey... you think they'd have the most populous areas accurate.

Using Google nav only. I tried to use Sprint nav but IIRC it asked for login/password and this turned me off. Considering the good reviews here maybe it was a mistake.

I am very happy with Google nav (put away my faithful Mio). My only issue with it is that it required data connection so if you get lost in the middle of no where you are out of luck (that's why my Mio is in the trunk).

Does Sprint support local map storage and offline operation?

You must be using it wrong. I have used it for years, nothing but win.

No I'm not doing it wrong.. I know how to use a navigation.. It's a problem with Google Maps. When I get to my destination and it's not the right place, and they even have the wrong street view picture of the place.. it's Google.. not me..

Well my friend that is highly unusual. What phone are you using? Does the gps lock nicely? Sounds like the gps locate function is off some way.

It's not entirely unusual. Google Maps sends me to the wrong place about 20% of the time.

I have used both and each works decent for what it is for. I have found Sprint navigation to find addresses that Google would not, EX i needed to go to a friends cottage on the lake, used google nav and it sent me 20 miles wrong (and I had no clue other than an address where this cottage was), entered the address into Sprint navigation and it worked. Now when I was in Dallas on a trip over the summer, google navigation was more accurate. Both are decent and therefore I use both as needed.
