Google Nexus 4 - Swiping and delay with stock Camera on KITKAT

Hello all,

I've been experiencing some REALLY annoying problems with the camera (side swiping to gallery will simply NOT work, delay in picture taking). These are all new from the update.
I've posted on this before and someone suggested deleting the camera app cache. That solves the problem but only temporarily (if i close and reopen the camera app swiping again doesnt work).

Is there any way to reinstall the camera app? Or any other possible fix?

Sorry for posting again on this but its really driving me crazy.

Which version of KitKat do you have? (4.4/4.4.1/4.4.2)
