I assumed it would be soft touch, but the Verge quick hands-on said "hard plastic" and compared it to an eggshell.

Either works for me - will be putting a thin shell case on it... Just glad they didn't use a white front bezel on the white one.

Really hoping Google Nexus 5 Wood Case | Wood Cases & Skins for iPhone, Samsung Galaxy, iPad Mini, iPod comes out with a case for the Nexus 6... The "Redwood Burl" is calling my name!

I'm thinking the blue. I think it looks better than the white, but we also haven't seen a physical blue one as far as I know.

Interesting comment by @askdes on the white N6:
Soft touch in "white" is never a good option - typically it's more like "primer grey" and it will pick up dirt, stain from jeans and more

I have always had a soft spot for white phones. I'm a bit disappointed that the front is black on both colors however, but a white back should be good enough.

If the white is similar a soft touch material similar to last year's Moto X, be warned that the backs on display I saw at best buy were pretty dingy and smudged looking.

Either way, I'm going with the blue.

Blue for two reasons, despite my preferring the white back.

1. I hate the "Oreo" look of a white back and black front. Drives me crazy on my white Nexus 5.
2. Motorola's dark color Moto X's feel nicer than the light colors. I'm assuming the same will be true here.

Midnight blue, shouldn't show dirt as much as the white, and never was a huge fan of white phones.

I'm definitely going for the midnight blue. Though black is an easy, timeless color, the blue adds a bit of color while still being subtle and modern.
