You get carrier related apps installed once you insert your sim card but can be deleted from what people are saying

As far as my battery life it has to be the signal strength at work.. Which was always a problem.. when I was on Sprint their signal was nonexistent at my work and when I switched to T-Mobile which was a much better but still weak signal my battery life improved dramatically..... in the 4 hours I was at work prior to lunch my batter dropped from 99% when I left home to 67% with 28 minutes of screen on time.... I got to lunch in a very populated and very strong T-Mobile signal area... I get back to work and my batter only dropped from 67% to 63% but my screen on time went from 28 minutes to 1 hour 19 minutes... So I have a feeling the somewhat faster battery drain while at work is just due to weak signal and the phone is searching and trying to keep signal....

Switch to AT&T?

Not worth the trade off in cost......... I only pay $30 a month with T-Mobile and my most heavy usage is when I am NOT at work.. Lunch, after work and weekends... I'd be paying an extra $50+ a month even with our corporate discount just so I can avoid a faster draining battery when I have this nice TYLT battery charger sitting on my desk the entire 8 - 9 hours a day I am here....

With my Nexus 5 I would always put it on the charger with about 2 hours left in my day to have enough batter to carry me to bed at night.... So far I shouldn't even need to charge during the day to get the same distance out of the 6.... but if needed I can top charge before I leave... (if I plan to be out late after work)

So i'll be throwing in an AT&T sim into this bad boy and i'll get AT&T bloatware? Doesn't tmobile put their own apps on their phones? Like if I buy a Note 4 from AT&T i get a crap load of at&t stuff and some some can be disabled but can't be deleted.. so they are all still on the phone.. what you're saying is that this phone doesn't have that stuff or it does and it can be deleted? I mean deleted not disabled.. Very big difference.. thanks for your help

I too was worried about the size, I have small hands that are weak(genetic issue) but I was happily surprised how such a big phone could easily fit in my hand, the curvature on the back of the phone definitely helps.

I have to get used to vanilla Android but overall I like the phone aside from the lack of notification tones(not many on there, I know, minor gripe).

My battery life has been "OK" but the phone only has 2 full charges, I expect it'll get better with a few more cycles and changing some settings.

Thanks for sharing. I played with the n6 at a T-Mobile today and I have my doubts now. The thing was huge, which was one of the reasons why I wanted it. But now I don't know. My phone will supposedly ship on December 9.

Might end up selling it or returning it.

Did you order from the play store or motorola? If you don't like it or want it I will buy it from you just saying.. If you don't open it i'll pay $100 more than you paid.. i'm sure you can get more than that though but I would love it.. lol

You check Swappa? They are not going for much more than retail.. a couple of people have some really high asking prices but most are $50 - 100 more than they were bought at retail....

Yeah I did check today.. they only have 32GB.. Looking for 64GB in either color but would like the blue one but at this point not going to be picky.. Hard enough to just get one..

Yeah 64 GB is a little harder to find.. I got mine from Motorola and since the carriers are not selling the 64 in stock it not that simple.. and then only T-Mobile is offering it in 64 at the carrier level but only online..

Yea with Lollipop the bloat ware can be removed completely not just disabled. This is a function of the 5.0 OS

I think also that if you buy them from carrier, you can't take it from TMo/ATT to Verizon/Sprint and vice versa. There was an article on Droid Life or somewhere that mapped out where the Nexus 6 can be used. Playstore can be used between all 4 carriers, no issues. But going across the GSM/CDMA carriers is tricky and "doubtful" the article said.
As long as your stay on your probably good to go.

I received my Nexus 6 a couple of hours ago.

Display- I compared my Note 4 in basic mode at full brightness (mode of choice) to the N6 at full brightness and adaptive display off. The screens were pretty close. The N6 has a little bit more saturation than the basic mode on the Note 4 but not unbearable. Text is crisp. I haven't seen any banding or warping or anything to give the screen any demerits at this time.

OS- very smooth and fluid. The one oddity i've found thus far is the fact the weather channel app is not compatible with the N6. I was surprised since the Note 4 has the same innards and runs fine. The tap to add your information from a previous device worked flawlessly.

Notifications- I'll have to get accustomed to the notifications for the lock screen. I prefer not to have my content displayed but it doesn't show an app icon in the notification tray when using this option.

Sound- I think it is rather good. I owned the M8 as well and these speakers seem louder without losing clarity. I'm very impressed and pleased with the sound.

Feel- This will be subjective. I've owned the Note 2-4, S2-5, One M8, N5, G3, etc... This phone is big. I have averaged sized hands and I tend to type better with the bigger screened phones. Having said that, I can't quite put my hands on what isn't cutting it for me. The Note 4 has a similar size but feels just a little bit better from a width perspective. That's what it is... it is the width. The width is what makes the N6 feel unwieldy at times. It feels good to me when I hold the phone with two hands and thins at the bottom compared to the Note 4. The Note 4 is slightly less wide and that makes a small difference.

Overall, I like the phone because I enjoy getting my vanilla Android feel when I'm not using one of the manufacturers versions of Android. I'll probably keep it because the battery will provide me more usage than the N5. It is definitely something you'll have to feel in hand before deciding on it. If I had not had experience with other big screened devices, I don't know if I would have made the purchase. Oh yeah... the back cover for the midnight blue version is definitely a fingerprint magnet. If you're really bothered by seeing fingerprints, you'll need a case or stay away from the blue color.

I hate how they try to tell you the accessories are "free" when you are just financing it. they try to get me to buy 3 of their over priced cases and screen protectors. I just kept telling them no. they insisted it's free and comes with the phone. funny thing is the monthly payment went down after the rep took the free accessories off. the couple times I been to the store, that's all I hear them telling customers.

Question for those who purchased online from T-Mobile

Did your Nexus 6 include a new Nano SIM card with your device? I'm still waiting for my device to arrive and I need to figure out if I might have to visit my local T-Mobile store to get a Nano SIM for it since I'm coming from a N5.

It can be deleted from what I've read. It sees you have AT&T, Verizon sprint or t-mobile and downloads the apps relates to them like my AT&T. You can delete them off the phone since it's only installing it when you insert the sim. If your buying the AT&T model in store not 100%

What are you talking about? Said this on another thread. Google is selling 2 phones period the US model and international model. Buying the model in Sprint, AT&T, t-mobile or Verizon will work on any carrier given that the sim is unlocked and not locked to a carrier like the AT&T model apparently. The phone can physically work on any us service

I second everything Robbie317 said above. It is HUGE!

But, when I went back to the N5, it felt small. It reminded me of the difference between the N5 and the iPhone 4.

One handed use is difficult for those of us with smaller hands but since I've returned to Nova (yes, I lasted less than 24 hours with GEL), I've set a gesture so I can swipe down anywhere on the screen and the notification shade comes down. It's something Google might have considered to make one handed use easier but it's an easy workaround with Nova.

With smaller hands, it is difficult to hold one handed with the slippery back. I've nearly had it slip out of my hand several times now and that has caused numerous heart palpitations.

Otherwise, I love it! The display is beautiful, the speakers are amazing (for a phone) and it's blazing fast.

Now, what to do with my N5 and OPO...

How does the OPO compare with the Nexus 6. I am still quite pleased with my OPO so find myself much less willing to try hard to get a Nexus 6 i.e. get on the websites on Wednesdays etc.

I believe it depends. They told me today that mine will be coming with a nano-sim included with the phone. But I am a new activation coming over from ATT. If you are already customer it may not. But I would think they would be able to just give you one in a local store. But if you are unsure, I would call Customer Care and make sure.
