Google Nexus 6 on Verizon

I love Verizon. There I said it. I know it is not popular, but it is out there now.

They have excellent coverage where I live and everywhere I travel. I have always gotten excellent customer service. YMMV. We don't have to agree. (Not aimed at you CR)

Same here. Their service is the best all around which isn't debatable. Is it their fault they want to wait a little bit to release their phone? Yep. But since there's bugs in the first batch (usually) and apparently an AT&T recall, I'm perfectly fine w/ that.

People hate you when you're on top, it's just a fact.

I like Verizon because they have excellent coverage and I have always had good experiences with customer service or in-store. The part I don't like is they act like a huge carrier in the sense that they want to control everything. I don't like having a bunch of VZW apps taking up space on my phone, them putting their branding all over every device, being notoriously slow with software updates and not allowing Nexus type devices on their network. The last two parts have started to change for the better, and I'm hopeful that with the Nexus 6 they won't do anything to screw up a great phone. Personally I don't care because I have a Motorola bought Nexus that I'm using on Verizon now and I couldn't be happier.

I think a lot has been blown out of proportion. Yes, their bloat is annoying but whatever, I don't need tons of space for me phone. The branding thing isn't bad and before someone shows me a Note 2, I'm aware. I'm also aware that was years ago and things change. I definitely agree w/ the closed portion though. I'd have a One+One if they allowed it. In fact, them allowing the Nexus is one of the reasons I stayed and didn't switch to AT&T. My Moto X also got an update to KK before anyone else did FWIW.

So while I agree, I definitely see change and think people need to stop hanging onto the past.

I think the loss of part of the gold is unavoidable and should not impact signal strength. If I ever get my Nexus 6 I got to chop my sim down also. I'd like to hear more people chime in on this.

Would a messed up SIM card just not work at all, or would it be spotty, like mine might be?

To those of you worried about the SIM cutter cutting off part of the contact, this is normal. I've cut SIM cards from several different carriers, and I believe that happened to all of them, including the Verizon SIM I cut last night.

As a couple others have said before me. I just tried to chat with VZW and asked them to send me a nano sim. They even asked me what phone it was for. No hassle sending me one, but I guess we'll find out what happens when my phone gets here (Friday) and the Sim arrives.

Did you end up getting your nano sim? VZW has sent me two already (both were micro sims) and now I'm waiting for their third attempt at getting me a nano sim.

If they send me the wrong part again, I'm just gonna take a chain saw to my micro sim and go to town.

I just finished a chat and they told me I couldn't order a sim via the chat, I had to call sales or go to a store. I am really pissed since the person last week said they would ship me a sim.

Even better: What the hey is he doing on the "N6 @ VZW" thread in the first place:confused:

I have both Verizon and AT&T accounts. I ordered a Nexus 6 from the play store for my AT&T account and am looking at both the Turbo or the Nexus 6 for my VZW account or the Moto X 2014.

Can someone with a Nexus 6 on Verizon confirm whether or not the NFL Mobile app works? That's the biggest thing I would miss if it doesn't.

Nfl mobile definitely works. I just haven't tried to stream a live game.

That's mostly what I'd like confirmed. Are you going to be trying it? I have an unlimited data plan, so I'd have to pay $5/month to stream live games. But if it works I'll definitely pay it.

So does AT&T yet nobody complains on the scale they do with Verizon

Exactly. The amount of butthurt over Verizon is absolutely hilarious and hypocritical by most. AT&T branded their Nexus but no one seems to care. Seems like their phones are having a lot of problems also. Had that been Verizon we'd have trolls galore in here lol.

It should work just fine as your plan is tied to the SIM card.
