Re: Buying the t-mobile one but using a Verizon sim?

Then they are lying... T-Mobile are full of liars Form my experience

I hope you are right so I can cancel the new account I made with them just to order the phone lol.

Anyone put in a Verizon nano-sim yet to test service?

I know a couple people said they are, but with so many threads around, I was looking to see if they can be condensed into 1 thread perhaps.
I think I remember reading in one the the threads someone did this on TMo/ATT without issue and Verizon "worked", but they got weird errors??

My N6 is out today for delivery that I got from the Google Playstore on 11/5, and as a now Verizon customer, I'd really like to know if Verizon service works with N6 by putting in your already active Verizon nano-sim. I'm 50/50 on keeping the phone and if this doesn't work 100%/no issues, then I'll keep it else I'm going to just sell it.

Thanks in advance!

I am using Verizon right now and it works perfectly. I checked my Verizon account and now it says that I have a non vzw device. The phone works but no voice and data at the same time.

Thanks!

Two quick questions:
- So can you go back to Verizon and get a discount because your using a BYOD/unlocked phone on their network? I heard if you have the 10GB+ plan, you get $25 off the $40 flat smartphone charge and $15 if < 10GB plan.
- Does any smartphone on Verizon work with voice/data at the same time? I just switched back to them the other day, so it's been a few years for me and remembering/knowing if this is just because the Nexus 6 or all their smartphones until they upgrade all to VoLTE.

I have a galaxy s3 on Verizon...I have voice and data at the same time..I divvy understand why these new phones don't have this feature standard..I use that feature surprisingly a lot of the time

I cant answer the first question because I have unlimited data. To answer the second question, my 2013 moto x had simultaneous voice and data if I were in a 4g area. The way the nexus 6 is built it isn't available right now using Verizon. Verizon is rolling out VoLTE to phones individually and not all at once. Only a few phones have VoLTE capabilities on Verizon right now.

Did you get the phone at a carrier or from the Play Store? I have an AT&T version that should be here tomorrow, but I'm a Verizon customer.

Re: Nexus 6 on VERIZON

Did you someone in this thread get one from ATT and use it on VZW yet?

That's what everyone wants to know and no one has the answer. I don't want to hear it "should" work in theory.

I have one coming tomorrow form AT&T and I'm a Verizon customer, so I will find out soon enough.

I got mine from the play store.

I'm using a Nexus 6 on Verizon that I got from Motorola. Just had to pop in my existing sim card and it works great!

Congrats :) So are you getting the 4G LTE icon at the top for signal? Just wondering... thanks!

Re: Anyone put in a Verizon nano-sim yet to test service?

Here is the deal, since I just went through this last night. I had Verizon send me a new nano sim card. Last night I called Verizon customer support, and attempted to add the Nexus 6 onto my account with the new sim card they sent. Their system was NOT recognizing the Nexus 6's IMEI number in their data base. I purchased the phone through the play store by the way. What the customer support rep did was link the new sim card to another phone on my account that uses a nano-sim. Then just pop it in the Nexus. The rep also let me know that it'll just show up as an unknown device on their end.

This is the only way to get it to work with a brand new nano-sim. Keep in mind that if you already are using a phone with a nano-sim, it should work right off the bat if you just stick your old card into the Nexus.

Re: Anyone put in a Verizon nano-sim yet to test service?

Is there any reason to be concerned about their noting a non-Verizon device and using that as an excuse to void an unlimited data plan?

Verizon is Hitler. AT&T is Mussolini.

I don't think so. I believe that when the phone becomes certified then it will show the phone on their system no matter where you got it from. And it won't show non-vzw device on my Verizon profile.

Not the "4G LTE" Verizon specific icon. Just regular "LTE" like any other Nexus. I'm free of all Verizon specific branding and crap and I love it! I did do a speed test and I'm getting the same upload/download speeds so that is all that matters to me!

Pretty sure that is only true if you purchase a Nexus 6 through Verizon when they offer it. Any purchase from a different provider would still be marked as non-vzw because the imei isn't in their database.

Ah ok, gotcha. Congrats!! I'm still deciding whether I should open my Nexus 6 when it gets here this evening via UPS or sell it. Grrr... I'm on Verizon, but just picked up the Moto X 2014 and still getting used to even that! The demo unit in TMo store had that clunky thing on the back so I couldn't really get a good feel for how it will be in my hand (I have small hands..lol).
Hmm....decisions decisions!!

Time will tell if we are right or wrong about this. I am just glad that the phone works. And that I don't have to look at any carrier branding on the device.
