Google Nexus 6 on Verizon

all the phones are the same thing. If tmboile gets wifi calling it will show in the rest of the phones, it might not be active in the rest but it will show. VOLTE is the same thing one nexus gets it all the others do.
But Verizon could selectively choose which N6's will get the update based on the IMEI. As I am sure you are aware, the N6 show as an an unsupported device on the online support screen and in some cases Verizon is not allowing certain discounts, etc.

It's something I wouldn't be surprised Verizon would do.

The way I understand it is that the FCC mandates that as long as the device is certified for Verizon's network, it must be allowed on the network. The Nexus 7 2013 LTE works whether it was purchased from VZW or Play store. My Nexus 6 (purchased from the Play store) is working fine and if I don't get an update for the radios that includes Verizon loading stuff into the OEM partition, I'm ok with that. VoLTE, while nice, is not a game changer since both devices must have VoLTE enabled in order for your phone to use it. Google Voice will do voice over your data connection while using the Hangouts Dialer, so minus the wideband audio, you still have a VoIP solution.

One thing you should definitely do when you get your Nexus 6 on Verizon is make sure you don't have any old CDMA contacts in your contacts. I just nuked my nano Sim by accidentally dialing *228 and not paying attention to what was going on. Now it's permanently stuck on 3g. If there's a way to undo it I haven't found it.

Dumb question, but are you planning to just get a brand new nano sim to fix the problem?

Yes a new SIM is on it's way.

I'll put it in my Moto X 2014 first to make sure I can get 4G then I'll pop it my N6 and pray.

So if the rumored release date for this phone is true, has the reveal of the Galaxy S6 changed any of your plans? Nexus 6 launch is the 28 of Feb. and the S6 reveal is March 1st with a release later in March. I think I'm going to wait and see what the S6 has to offer before I order the N6.

For me, no. I like screwing with my phone too much to be stuck on stock touchwiz. And being on Verizon, this is the only (mod friendly) option aside from the M9 and eventual G4 (hopefully all flashable and the like on VZW). S6 should be nice, but I can't do what I want with it sadly.

Agreed, the S6 doesn't look like anything great, the M9 will be great but I want a large screen and I am partial to Nexus devices anyway.

The G4 coming April 1st no doubt will be even better than the M9 or S6 if they stick with speccing out there stuff (I could see them going crazy high on the megapixels as well as RAM) but if you keep waiting you'll never jump.

Glad to hear! My 64GB version from Google Play arrived yesterday and I popped in my MotoX SIM. Working fine, and has twice the LTE speed as the MotoX. Sucker is big, though. Almost too big to hold. And slippery!

Regarding the rumor of February 26.I had a smart representative tell me near end of February but not sure of precise date . I know we shouldn't trust reps but think of it as icing to the cake on the rumor

Anyone else find it interesting that a rumored nexus 6 with turbo capabilities would be released on Verizon and the day before the rumored launch on Verizon all Android blog sights are a getting a mystery box from Moto?

No need for random heart attacks. Verizon said the nexus 6 is coming soon not a droid turbo +. If they changed it up it wouldn't be a nexus

I am still just shocked to be using a Nexus on Verizon. Popped in my Verizon Sim and within the minute I was up and working

Just got my nexus 6 2 weeks ago. Bought it from Motorola. Went to my local verizon store and explained the situation with this phone and how it needed to be activated. They went to the back and grabbed a store model iPhone 5c, stuck a SIM card in it, and got it activated. They even put it in my nexus, called a number to ensure I had service, then sent me on my way free of charge. Either my local store is awesome, or people are making too big of a deal about activating this phone on verizon. In fact, this phone gets better reception and call quality than my lg g2 bought through verizon. Good luck and enjoy this amazing phone!
