Google Nexus 6 on Verizon

With most devices it isn't as there are usually multiple SKU numbers to deal with and Verizon will have only white-listed their own. Typically most Verizon devices can be used on other networks without issues other than perhaps some missing LTE bands on the GSM networks, but going in reverse BYOD to Verizon is usually not simple and sometimes not possible. In the case of the N6, other than the AT&T version (which is still the same SKU but is somehow carrier locked? how is that possible?), they seem to all share a SKU and be interchangable across supported carriers.

Just Sim locked only for the subsidized versions. Bootloader easily unlocked.

We probably won't know until an unlocked device is released with all the bands supported like the N6

I myself have been trying to figure out when and if the Nexus 6 will be released on Verizon. Usually I can google my question or concern and come up with an answer but this time it is like the topic does not even exist. The major Android sites are silent and have no info or updates, Verizon call center don't have any info, and my local Verizon store never picks up there phone. I actually drove to my local store today and had to argue with the greeter not to take my name into their que and make me wait 2 hours just to ask a simple question. I know the reps at Verizon never want to or are not allowed to give info out but sometimes you get lucky and receive a sly hint or two. Today I was told that they only know a week ahead of time when a phone will be out and that its not Verizon's fault since they only supply the towers but rather the manufacturers fault (Motorola). I was also told the Nexus 6 was supposed to have been released by now but there must be a problem since it has not. Not sure if I can completely trust that answer or not but I took it as a sly hint that there is in fact something delaying the release on Verizon. The only thing that does not make sense to me is the fact that it has been released on 4 other carriers already so what problem could Verizon have that the others do not. Even if you say the GSM carriers are better or have an easier compatability history with phones Sprint is still CDMA and the Nexus 6 has been out on Sprint for a while now. I would love to ask the great leaders of AC to get involved and see what they can dig up.

Initially I tried online using the correct IMEI. When that didn't work I called and tried to have tech support activate using the correct number. When they insisted that it won't work is when I had them use the fake IMEI number. I didn't even tell them what phone the fake number was, only that it was a Verizon device that I did not have. They knew that I was activating Nexus 6 that I bought from Motorola. Heck at one point the Verizon tech 3 way called into Motorola to try and get some help. That is a whole other storey, complete waste of time. Once the first one worked the Verizon rep repeated the process for the second line.

Question, did you try cutting an existing Sim and just pop that in?

Just received a Nexus 6 from the Motorola store last week. Cut the microsim from my galaxy note 2 and popped it into the Nexus 6 and was up and running right away. Just got my bill from Verizon yesterday and the $25 month to month discount wasn't on my bill as it should have been because I was out of contract, even before I switched to the Nexus. I called customer support and she couldn't get the "promotion", the $25 discount, on my line. She suspected it was because I was using the N6 but couldn't get it figured out and had to escalate the issue. She is supposed to call me back today, hopefully with a resolution to get me the "discount". I didn't think really think it was a discount, rather it was just $15 per month for each phone when I had the 10GB plan. Anyway, anyone else with this issue?

Weird. Why would they care cuz it's not in their system? Hopefully you get it back. Are you talking about the Edge discount?

I have the same problem....I have to call in every month to get the discount ....the system doesn't know its a 4g device so it doesn't apply the discount automatically... Very frustrating, but they do give it to me when I call in after the bill is posted.

Well I pulled the trigger on the Note 4 today for $149 at the Verizon store. I really wanted the Nexus 6 but this has gotten to be beyond ridiculous at this point. Disappointed in Verizon ' s rollout of the Nexus 6 :-(

If Sprint wasn't having so many issues I probably would go to them (before these past 3.5 years with Verizon I used Virgin throw away phones and they were great in the area I live in, as good or better reception than T-mobile). This not releasing the Nexus 5 or 6 added to the fact that Edge is now a 75% payoff (which makes it a bad investment really) does suck but my G2 is such a future proof phone I could go another six months with no problems.

I've stopped caring at this point. Yes, it is the phone I want (I am a fan of Nexus devices) but I'm not willing to switch carriers yet, not because I love Verizon just for the convenience factor. If Sprint wasn't having so many issues I probably would go to them (before these past 3.5 years with Verizon I used Virgin throw away phones and they were great in the area I live in, as good or better reception than T-mobile). This not releasing the Nexus 5 or 6 added to the fact that Edge is now a 75% payoff (which makes it a bad investment really) does suck but my G2 is such a future proof phone I could go another six months with no problems.

I am currently using the N6 on Verizon (my N6 came from T-Mobile but its unlocked) I don't have one single issue with connectivity. The phone works seamlessly across their LTE/3G network. The only thing missing is voice and data simultaneously via VoLTE but that isn't the phone's fault. I will say I agree with your last statement the LG G2 IMHO was the phone of the year.. The size display they fit in that form factor is amazing. I still have mine and love it.

As I posted earlier, Verizon rep told me he estimated about February. He didn't know why the delay but said that they plan to carry /support it. I really can't see what Verizon thinks they will gain by delaying. Maybe they put all their eggs in the Turbo basket. Glad I bought directly from Motorola and it's working fine on Verizon. Still got my UDP.

It's Sprint. Don't all of their phones have connectivity issues? I mean their new CEO came out and said their network isn't up to snuff.

My gf has and still uses a gnex on vz and it works pretty good. Only problems start coming when Google stock apps are updated to be optimized for an OS version it will never get.

I'm using an At&t N6 on Verizon service right now, no issues at all. I wouldn't wait till Verizon gets it.
