re: Google Nexus 6 Preorder Info & Reviews

Oh well, I've given up. Will check in occasionally but I might go with whenever Motorola begins selling directly or as a last resort, whenever AT&T opens up orders.

Not going to be broken up over this, there will be other opportunities.

re: Google Nexus 6 Preorder Info & Reviews

I don't understand the people who are turned off on the phone because the pre-orders went bad. Even if you could get a pre-order in today you're waiting for the phone to actually be released and then it'll be shipped and available for you to use afterwards. It's not like there's really any less waiting going on versus ordering/buying it on release day (who knows, pre-orders might keep coming back up until then), the release date is the release date whether you ordered now or two weeks from now.

I know it's a guarantee of getting something versus the chance that it'll be out of stock on release day, but still. Even though apparently pre-orders going this way is the norm for Google, everybody loves the actual phone so by mid to late-November that's all that will matter. The same way people still love their Nexus 4/5 even though they had to put up with the same kind of thing beforehand.

It's just frustration. They really are not hurting Google. I have an Iphone 6 plus and am really enjoying it, but this is the phone I really wanted from the beginning.

re: Google Nexus 6 Preorder Info & Reviews

i have to say that i love Google and Android but this is a little disrespectful to their most ardent fans and supporters to announce a pre-order day and then drag the availability of the pre-order time until very late in the day. people have lives they'd like to get on with - and with a limited supply they don't want to be forced to be glued to their computers all day just to make sure they get one. you don't have to reveal the exact time - but if you announce a pre-order day - don't wait until the end of the f-ing day to make it available. that's just disrespectful whether intentional or not. have some courtesy and respect for your supporters. yeah you're in a position where you don't have to - and yeah we'll still buy one - but it's just disrespectful and inconsiderate. especially considering this is just a placeholder pre-order - not an actual real order with immediate shipping which requires more logistics/supply.

Delivery date isn't the point! Google is a top notch multi billion dollar technology company who can't seem to get a somewhat simple e-commerce sales site running worth a darn! No transparency on what is going on at all! No one except Google knows if there's even been an official pre-order period today! Just speculation and a small minority of people who've been able to get one!

exactly. I will probably keep checking a few times each hour until I go to bed. They really should have given us a time.

Even a time frame would have been sufficient. Still can't tell if that small window of a release was the official pre-order or not.

re: Google Nexus 6 Preorder Info & Reviews

A response to clarify what did or will occur regarding the pre-ordering process would be nice.

re: Google Nexus 6 Preorder Info & Reviews

They are a bunch of idiots treating their loyal fanbase with total disrespect 4 years in a row now. Honestly only hardcore Android fans who will tolerate anything are keeping the brand alive. If I told a friend about the awesome new Nexus 6 (and it is awesome), that they'd be able to order one today, having this kind of experience would turn them away for life.

re: Google Nexus 6 Preorder Info & Reviews

I wasn't involved on the N4.. just read about the nightmare! I had the nexus one and my order went through without a hitch last year I pulled up the page twenty minutes after everyone said it was live and ordered without a problem and it even shipped that same day! This is just insane....

Re: can one order from the Moto website?

At this rate, I might as well wait and keep my $750 in my pocket and use my Moto Credit which was my original plan until today's date was set as the pre-order date. I can float the cost, decide if i want it, return or sell it and get the Moto X or Turbo. Plus it will give me some time to sell my Droid Maxx.

Re: Who ordered theirs today?

I wonder if Google did this on purpose so that more people would go to the carriers to buy... Just a thought, and yes I have had no sleep since yesterday...

I was thinking the same thing. Maybe google told the carriers, "hey we will do preorders, but keep very low stock" as a way to get the device on all carriers, and also push more people into carrier stores. Wouldn't surprise me one bit, and I just want to know when it will be in verizon store since I planned to wait anyway to be able to play with one in store before buying anyway.

re: Google Nexus 6 Preorder Info & Reviews

Pretty ridiculous and it makes me feel like the entire Nexus line is nothing but an experiment much like google voice and some of the other products they throw out there. I was able to order the N5 last year--this is just bad form.

Google Nexus 6 Does preorders really mean instock

Finally got my order in today at 12:52 for a blue 32gig with a ship date of 11/21.

But if it was truly a preorder , I would think it wouldn't keep going in and out of stock. I'm hoping that they already have a number of phones and thats why they was slowing down the order process and shipping will start sooner?

What do you think?

Re: Does preorders really mean instock

I'm thinking they have their heads up their arse.

I agree. I've been purchasing Nexus phones from the beginning and never understood why their order process became this way, within the last few years.

It certainly seems that way. I know I will still get one. When they announced pre orders on 10/29 without giving a time, I had a feeling there would be problems. Last year, I don't even think the Nexus 5 was even announced, it was a rumor all the way up until it showed up on the Play store.

re: Google Nexus 6 Preorder Info & Reviews

I called them and of course they can't place an order over the phone. Only through the website which shows "out of inventory" according to the guy I spoke with. I said, "You sold out in 15seconds? I would make sure this hits the press so Apple gets envious".

Seeing as how big red has their Droid Turbo I'd imagine they won't be in a rush to push the Nexus 6. Especially if the 6 ends up with updates from Google and not themselves. Still, at this point the phone isn't even on carriers sites yet. Frustrating.

Re: Does preorders really mean instock

It is google, the biggest search giant on the planet and they are literally the worst at launching a phone. You would think now with this being the 3rd time launching a phone on their store they would have a somewhat idea of what is needed to keep things running. If this was an iPhone I would see these issues happening. This is unacceptable from google, and will be interesting to see if they divulge how many "preorders" they actually had or set up. Just another reason I no longer preorder, and then have to wait a month or more to get the device. I will wait until it is in carrier stores, walk in and get one right away.
