re: Google Nexus 6 Preorder Info & Reviews

Really disappointing launch.

Seems like they had minimal stock and they sold out immediately. It's not like Google are new to releasing hardware. Pretty embarassing for them that they still can't get it right.

What's worse is the 3-4 week shipping. Seriously? You announce the phone October 15 and the 10 phones that you did sell on the Play Store will start shipping out on November 21??

That's just pathetic. No other way to put it.

One thing that Apple does right is launches. They reveal their device, next few days you can order it, the next week it's in your hands. Google? Oh yeah, we'll announce it, let pre-orders go up two weeks later with crap all stock so that it'll sell out within seconds and then those lucky few who did get to order one will have to wait almost a month for it to be shipped out, and probably a full month for it to be in the users hands.

Terrible.

I got 4 tabs running auto refresh in chrome to alert me to when "Add to Cart" shows up. Just sit back and wait. lol

re: Google Nexus 6 Preorder Info & Reviews

I don't think Google is so badly on pre orders... I think, is a marketing strategy, like a One Plus One... Lol

Good luck.

I'm in Australia and we don't even have that Nexus 6 'coming soon' page for us to even place an order when it is available. It's as if the device doesn't exist on the Play Store here.

I can't believe Google are this bad at releasing a phone.

Nothing for 1hr. I think they know I'm doing it from a mac. lol

Re: can one order from the Moto website?

Well its listed on Motorola's site, plus you can finance it via Motorola credit.

Yes, that's what I want to do. I did that when I purchased last year's X. Want to do it with the 6.
Thanks

Re: Does preorders really mean instock

Well I thought lollipop was supposed to be out on 11/12 for the nexus 5???? If that's the case I figured the n6 would be out cause I thought the n6 would have it first.

re: Google Nexus 6 Preorder Info & Reviews

I think it's safe to say by now that this was a very much botched launch. Doubtful anything will show up today. Probably a while and it'll be spotty moments when it's available.

HTC One M8
iPad Air

Re: Who ordered theirs today?

Got mine ordered at 12:52 for a blue 32gig with 1day shipping with an expected date of 11/21

If it makes you feel better, we can't even buy phones from the play store over here...
On another note, if I get an US version of the phone and ship it to myself to yurop, what are the chances that I can't even use the motorola charger?

Re: Who ordered theirs today?

Got mine at 117p est. 32g midnight blue. Payment still pending. Showing Nov 21 ship date. Hopefully it ships quicker than that. I am curious how many people were able to get one; seems like not too many. I just happened to hit refresh at the exact right moment. Total luck.

Yep. It's not the end of the world but Google really knows how to spoil the ordering experience. A lot of people waited in anticipation for today, only to not be able to pre-order a phone. It's not even the fact that it sold out so fast, that's bad enough. It's not giving a concrete time to pre order. They can't expect people to sit in front of their computers all day, refreshing, and waiting for the phone to become available.

I guess the Nexus 6 is just not a popular enough phone for them to care.

I hadn't heard the 11/12 date for the Nexus 5, but it wouldn't be too surprising - the Nexus 9 is shipping out on the 3rd, so it is still launching on a 'new' model first.

With that kind of delay, Google should really be upgrading people to 1-day shipping at no additional charge...

Is it really a delay? Google was taking preorders. Nothing is a delay really.

I'm wondering about that also, though it's probably something we will never know. I've only read about three people getting the 64GB, and a lot more the 32GB.

Re: Who ordered theirs today?

Not being able to order because its not available in the UK was hard enuf.. Now all I got to look forward to is lollipop hopefully that launch is smooth unlike this flop nexus launch

re: Google Nexus 6 Preorder Info & Reviews

I'm pretty bummed. I figured I'd probably miss the preordering opportunity due to having to work today, but I was hoping I might still be able to snipe one during down time at work. But considering it seems to have literally sold out within seconds, I guess that was never going to happen.

Thing is, I'm just as bummed, frustrated, annoyed, and upset as everyone else, but I'm not angry at Google, or anything like that. When it comes down to it, a certain segment of the population was just more prepared (and luckier, I guess) to pounce on it as soon as preorders opened up, and they sold out instantly. I'm more annoyed that demand was so high and that enough people were so fast on the draw to get their orders in that it sold out that initial batch of preorders.

It's not the end of the world, or anything, I guess, but I was really excited to get this phone ASAP, and now there's no telling at all when I might be able to get one. Heck, if demand stays as high as it apparently is, a lot of us might not even be able to get one until 2015. :/

Re: Does preorders really mean instock

People don't want the nexus 9 lol why couldn't the nexus 6 launch be the early one

A preorder that now will not ship until 9 or more days later than other retailers are maintaining their stand that they will have them in stock? It isn't something that purchasers are entitled to, but it demonstrate an act of good will on Google's part. The cost difference between 1-day and standard shipping when you do the volume of shipping that Google does is extremely small, and the cumulative total expense would be worth it from a PR perspective.
