re: Google Nexus 6 Preorder Info & Reviews

Demand has nothing to do with it. I seriously think less than 100 people got a phone.

re: Google Nexus 6 Preorder Info & Reviews

so what's the verdict?

1. sold out supply
OR
2. hasn't gone officially 100% live yet?

Unless they only made 100 phones, I doubt the sold out in less than a minute.

Re: Who ordered theirs today?

I'm wondering about that also, though it's probably something we will never know. I've only read about three people getting the 64GB, and a lot more the 32GB.

You're probably right we'll never know. Seems like something wasn't quite right. After I placed my order, I refreshed the page and it was listed as sold out. Then, about twenty minutes later, I refreshed again and it was back in stock for just a few seconds.

I'm just ecstatic I was able to order one, assuming there are no problems with the ordering process. I'm sure since my card has been charged, though still showing pending, all should be good. Can't wait to get it and start playing around!

re: Google Nexus 6 Preorder Info & Reviews

I'm pretty bummed. I figured I'd probably miss the preordering opportunity due to having to work today, but I was hoping I might still be able to snipe one during down time at work. But considering it seems to have literally sold out within seconds, I guess that was never going to happen.

Thing is, I'm just as bummed, frustrated, annoyed, and upset as everyone else, but I'm not angry at Google, or anything like that. When it comes down to it, a certain segment of the population was just more prepared (and luckier, I guess) to pounce on it as soon as preorders opened up, and they sold out instantly. I'm more annoyed that demand was so high and that enough people were so fast on the draw to get their orders in that it sold out that initial batch of preorders.

It's not the end of the world, or anything, I guess, but I was really excited to get this phone ASAP, and now there's no telling at all when I might be able to get one. Heck, if demand stays as high as it apparently is, a lot of us might not even be able to get one until 2015. :/

Don't worry about it. You can still buy one for $2,500 on eBay.

thats my guess at this point. they must have only had like 30 phones for sale, for people who were literally refreshing all day to see coming soon then out of stock 3 secs later.

re: Google Nexus 6 Preorder Info & Reviews

I can not honestly believe that they are actually sold out. In one instance the device went from coming soon to out of stock. Makes entirely no sense to me. I also find it kind of weird none of the major sites has said anything about the preordering issues. Even Google's own blog hasn't muttered a word.

re: Google Nexus 6 Preorder Info & Reviews

I really not sure what happened. I don't think I've ever heard of a phone literally going from "coming soon" to "out of stock" within a page refresh. I think the fastest I've ever seen was the N4 and the Iphone 5. It seems like the phone was available to order on & off between a little before 1:00PM and 1:30PM EST, based on those who actually got their orders in.

I wasn't able to check the site until a little after 2:00PM EST and by then there was no chance of getting one. In fact, I've yet to read anyone getting a phone after 2:00PM.

exactly! ive been saying the same thing! how come no one has mentioned what a debacle this has been? its very strange.

Re: How did I miss preorder??

I want to wait til it's available from Motorola so I can use the 0% interest credit. I think I can manage with the Moto X for another month.

Seems to me that by definition pre-order would mean severely limited quantities, otherwise it would just be order. Ky guess is they stopped pre-ordering at the amount they could produce in a reasonable amount of time given they'll have to provide for other channels as well.

Not to be rude but that makes no sense lol. Pre order for current stock and plan to ship in 3-4 weeks? Pre-orders by the way they have worked in the 20th century have never been capped, at least in my experience. Even if they run out they just give you a extended time frame for when to expect shipment. I dont recall ever pre-ordering something based off of limited quantities. Just ordering it and then being told it is out of stock seems more like the route of limited quantities.

Would like to see something official at least from their Twitter or blog. Hard to think this was the official release without any word from anyone.

re: Google Nexus 6 Preorder Info & Reviews

So looking forward here, do we have any confirmed dates on when Motorola.com will start selling direct? All I've seen is "November" so far.

From the few sites I've seen they all acknowledge that Google has a bad track record with ordering. It's like they are used to it, like many of us. I'm just bummed I wasn't at my computer at the right time. It's just all luck of the draw. I remember in the past being able to get my order in, but just missed it this time.

re: Google Nexus 6 Preorder Info & Reviews

There was also some time of event held today because Android Central, Engadget, Gizmodo as well as a few others had some hands on time if for only a moment.

re: Google Nexus 6 Preorder Info & Reviews

I'm not surprised Google hasn't commented on anything, because in all likelihood, there is no "glitch" or "error". I do agree that it seems difficult to believe preorders sold out that quickly, but I think that's what we're looking at, here. Not even publications like Android Central, here, have really commented on there being a problem with preordering, aside from the brief amendment that was added to the article about the phone being available for preorder. If there were some kind of legitimate problem, causing the Play Store to falsely show that it's out of stock, for instance, I'm sure we'd be hearing a bit about it from somewhere. Someone always has some kind of source for this kind of information. But there's been nothing. Ergo, that must just mean stock was fairly low and people snatched them up lightning fast.

I personally don't think Lollipop for phones is as close to being ready as they had hoped

The Google Nexus 4 smartphone website indicated that the unit was sold out in the US Google Play store in both 8GB and 16GB variants, but some users are reporting that they have been able to purchase it. Roughly 50 minutes after it went on sale at 8:35 this morning, the site was displaying the ‘coming soon’ banner for us. Update: Google has confirmed that it has sold out in ‘a few countries’.

Google's Nexus 4 Sells Out In US

The black 16GB Nexus 5 is already out of stock in the US Play Store and it only took 33 minutes.

16GB Black Nexus 5 Sells Out In The US Play Store After Just 33 Minutes [Update: All Versions Now Showing Multiple Week Waits]

re: Google Nexus 6 Preorder Info & Reviews

I watched the launch and as I mentioned earlier foolishly waited for the 64gb. I watched some interesting stuff as they were selling out, you could see pages out of sync (I'm not behind a proxy) on different mirrors they are serving off of where stuff would show up on one and not another on a refresh. Then randomly more or less during the rush, they added the Google Music promo. I was blown away that the 64gb was literally sold out in a matter of seconds. The impression it gave me was they had a very limited supply as the 32gb seemed out of stock by the time it hit the news sites and Twitter (watching #Nexus6). 64gb came out during the news site rush so guessing that's why it was so much faster (seconds vs minutes.) For all we know could have been 10k 32gb and some thousands of the 64gb. I was in denial at first that it was a mess up or soft launch, but I don't think so, just really popular. I'm disappointed (mostly in myself for not getting a 32gb when I could), but realistically based on when I got the N5 (which I did get on the preorder and I recall that sold out in about 15min), over the next week or so they will randomly pop up on the site. Then give it a another few weeks and I think they'll be getting more plentiful.

how can you sell out of a pre order though? thats the whole point of pre ordering. so that you get a spot in line when it actually does come in stock.
