I just want the 12th to get here.

I don't have a source for the screen speculation, its based on what I'v read in a number of places and the evidence we've seen of recent phones which also use Samsung AMOLED panels.
Note 1/2/34 all easily get ~2 days of real world usage, so anything less from this phone will be disappointing.
My greatest hope are that it becomes clear no later than the first date upon which the phone can actually be received (which appears to be the 12th, from at least T-Mobile) as to each carrier's stance on whether or not they will allow devices purchased from other providers to be used with their SIMs, and which carriers, if any, are locking their devices or installing bloatware that cannot easily be removed without rooting and might interfere with direct delivery of updates from Google.
Without that information, I can't see myself rolling the dice with any carrier's device, even if it means a potentially lengthy delay to get one directly from Google to be assured of those freedoms.
I just want the 12th to get here.
Be careful what you wish for.
What I mean is we're all hoping for great things on the 12th. It reminds me of another date that we were waiting for with great anticipation - Oct 29, also known as N-DayAnd we know how that turned out...

I am thinking that Oct 29th was PO-Day.... and yes, it has more than one meaning to me besides Pre Order - Day....
Also all you need to do is put your sim in and it works, even for verizon. Droid life did a video on this.
Their video showed one working, but it was one provided by Google - not one as released by another carrier. Possibly a very important distinction.
There is only one version for US though. They are all the same, regardless of carrier now. Now will a carrier sell you one if you don't have service with them? Maybe, maybe not.

I sort of figured it would be 11/12.
Same hardware, NOT same software. Verizon can block IMEI's of all devices sold via TMobile, AT&T etc, and most likely will. Devices sold on Play Store will have their IMEI whitelisted.
This is an important distinction many people fail to grasp.
