re: Google Nexus 6 Preorder Info & Reviews

But this took seconds!!! lol not even minutes. It makes no sense at all

A pre-order is an order placed for an item which has not yet been released. The idea for pre-orders came when people found it hard to get popular items in stores due to their popularity. Companies were then given the idea to allow people to reserve their own personal copy, before the release, which has been a huge success. Pre-orders allow consumers to guarantee immediate shipment on release, manufacturers can gauge how much demand there will be and hence how large initial production runs should be, and sellers can be assured of minimum sales. Additionally, high pre-order rates can be used to further increase sales.

Someone send this to Google so they figure out what a pre-order is vs just ordering from whats in stock

Hey we all feel the same way man. I was looking forward to getting an unlocked Nexus. What a waste of time. Anyway, Im just going to get it on T-mobile in two weeks. At least they are offering the 64 GB online.

Are they offering Cloud White online too, or just both sizes of the Midnight Blue?

Tyvm. This is what I've been saying all day. Pre ordering isn't suppose to be able to sell out, cause they're not suppose to actually be selling what they have in stock yet. This whole thing makes no sense and is just a giant disaster.

Pretty terrible day for the most of us it sounds like. Even worse that the ship date isn't until the 21st. Wonder if we'll see anymore pre orders pop up this week

re: Google Nexus 6 Preorder Info & Reviews

I'm still going to get it, I'm just pissed that I had it in my cart TWICE and both times it vanished when I tried to proceed to checkout. I know I would have had it show up at my door tomorrow, but this still wasn't enjoyable and I'm still disappointed.

My $700 doesn't mean jack to Google so I'm not going to be a martyr and "vote with my wallet" when the only one getting hurt is me. I want the phone, I'm going to get the phone, but I'm still extremely put off by the crap that went down with the disappearing cart.

Had it in cart twice myself only to hit proceed to check out and it flip to nothing in your cart! Local T-Mobile store said they will have "a few" November 12 in store! Should be interesting!

TBH if more pop up, idk if i even want the N6 anymore. This day has left a really bad taste in my mouth, add to that Google basically giving us no information about what happened, i'm pissed, and seriously considering other phones. I mean if they extend an olive branch in the next couple of days that would be appreciated.

re: Google Nexus 6 Preorder Info & Reviews

I'm not bothered by it selling out so fast. I'm bothered by the fact that it disappeared from my cart 3 times.

I'm kind of soured.

I'll try. I'll try and de-sour and sweeten! - YouTube

Stupidity at this scale doesn't happen by accident or error, its by design. Its like Google spent millions on trying to find the best way to alienate their hardcore fans, not give them any info, and frustrate them at every step.

And they have succeeded.

Under no circumstances should any device sell out when it’s a pre-order. The only thing that should possibly change is the delivery date based on the volume. All this does is make people mad and they choose other devices or no device at all. I can only say that I hope that it will be open for real in the next day or 2.

At this price point and size I highly doubt that the volume needed would be the same as the Nexus 5 but who knows. The bottom line is Google needs to stop doing stuff like this.

Nexus 6 Pre-Orders Were A Joke
10/29/2014 By Adam Mills

There are terrible smartphone pre-orders and then there’s Nexus 6 pre-orders. If this isn’t the worst smartphone pre-order of all time, it’s got to be pretty darn close. And with that in mind, let’s run down the list of follies:

Google never announced any sort of pre-order time so no one had any idea when to pre-order the Nexus 6.
Google put the Nexus 6 up for pre-order without telling any of its customers.
Google sold out of Nexus 6 pre-orders in minutes maybe even seconds, who knows.
Shipping times are at three to four weeks for those that did get through. Oh, let’s not forget that the Nexus 6 doesn’t even have a confirmed release date. Anywhere.
The company hasn’t done or said anything to make it right. I can’t be the only one complaining about this, can I? Is it having production problems? If that’s the case, why not delay the pre-orders? Why push forth this half-baked excuse for a pre-order process? Why not take five minutes to explain the situation to customers looking to buy the phone?
That last bit, at least to me, is the most astonishing. Google’s said nothing. Silence, zilch, nada. Maybe pre-orders are coming back, maybe not. Who knows! That’s great business. Apple apologized for a software bug. A bug that lasted less than 24 hours. This Nexus 6 pre-order nonsense could last weeks and Google’s silent. I don’t get it. And maybe Google doesn’t either. Maybe it doesn’t care about Nexus users. Maybe it never did. If that’s the case, stop wasting everyone’s time.

Today’s Nexus 6 pre-orders were a complete farce and I’m sure that the fun is far from over. I can tell you one thing though, I’m not playing Google’s games anymore. They just lost a customer and a long time Nexus user today. There are plenty of other phones out there with near vanilla software that’s less buggy than Nexus software. Phones out there that are just as cheap. Phones that are actually available when I go to buy them. And companies that treat their customers right.

Nexus 6 Pre-Orders Were A Joke

I'm seriously considering a Note 4 or a Moto X 2014. Mills is right, this is going to **** a bunch of their hardcore users off, and if they don't do something soon, they are going to end up losing a bunch of sales. Who knows, Google probably does not even care. It maybe be time to move on from the Nexus line. Such a sad ending.

re: Google Nexus 6 Preorder Info & Reviews

I want a screen that is 5.7" at the least, and I would much prefer it to be free of Touchwiz. I had the Note 4 already, I returned it because I think it wastes screen space by blowing things up unnecessarily large (my wife's S5 showed identical amounts of content in Chrome, stock browser, Facebook, Twitter, etc, just with smaller text) and I hate, hate, hate Touchwiz. I decided to return it and try the Nexus 6 first and should I, for some reason, not like it, suck it up on Touchwiz and go back to the Note 4.

Some of you may be willing to pass on the Nexus after today, but I'm not and it's mostly because there aren't any other phones that give me what I'm looking for. I had it in my cart twice today and it failed to go to checkout both times, but it is what it is. I'm pissed, but I'm still going to get it.

Hopefully T-Mobile doesn't pull the same crap they pulled with the Nexus 5 and jack the price up $150+ from what it is in the Play Store. Assuming they don't and they also don't put any of their bloatware crap on it, I'll just wait for release and buy it from them because it will probably be easier. Not to mentioned their stated availability of November 12th compared to the ship date of the 21st the people who managed a preorder today are getting.

re: Google Nexus 6 Preorder Info & Reviews

Would be nice if Google valued their customers even a little bit to release a comment as to what happened today. :(

re: Google Nexus 6 Preorder Info & Reviews

that's it. i'm OUT. i've had enough of this nonsense. i just cancelled my order for my Nexus 6 Case and now plan to just keep my Nexus 5 for another year and get my money out of it. Google/Motorola will not be getting my $650. if you treat me like a jerk you don't get my money. you have to earn my business. maybe next year.
