Did you cancel your pre-order after reading the reviews?

Re: Anyone cancel their order after reading reviews?

I was on the fence but after reading the reviews of the mediocre battery and camera I'm going to cancel my pre-order. I was always on the fence so I'm not sure I'm a good example. This would have been an extra phone to use alongside my iphone. I just wasn't ready to spend $700 unless the camera and battery were similar to my iphone.

I wish I could give transfer pre-order to someone here! haha

I respect your post because you're straight up about how you were already on the fence. I have the Iphone 6 plus, and while I'm hopeful, I don't expect the Nexus 6 battery to be as good. I'm on the, I was getting this phone anyway side of the fence :)

Re: It's a typical Nexus phone, full of compromises

Yeah I am on T-Mobile as well.. I use that Walmart $30 a month prepaid plan... I never go over 100 minutes of talk and the 5 GB of data at LTE speeds has been enough for my real world use since I am on WiFi at home and work anyway.... Compared to my unlimited everything plan on Sprint before I was paying almost $80 a month.. so $50 a month over a year saved me $600 right there.. Plus I'll be able to get about $250 - 300 for my 32 GB Nexus 5 on Swappa........ So it kind of is a wash vs a discounted contract option..

I really liked the 2014 Moto X... and in the spirit of splitting hairs... I passed almost entirely because it didn't have wireless charging... I bought 3 TYLT wireless chargers and I've just loved that option.. No more fumbling around with a USB cable or having it accidentally fall down behind my desk or nightstand/bed... Totally Diva style nit picking but that is the only reason I waited to see what the Nexus 6 was about... Love the 6 inch screen concept as well.. and I've loved my Nexus 5.... It's done an admirable job over the last 13 months I've had it.....

I've got the same plan. Now that I can use Hangouts to make phone calls it's like having it free. It's a great plan and I'll probably keep it until they force me off.

Re: Anyone cancel their order after reading reviews?

You have zero idea about mobile cameras and that statement above proves it. Enjoy ridiculous camera/shutter/processing lag on your Nexus 6 to get middle of the road image quality.

Apparently I'm a troll because I dislike the camera and trying to prove a point... Watch yourself Lmao. He is using computer world as his defense... Smh

Don't get me wrong everyone, I WANT to love this phone. I still haven't clicked that cancel button. I am holding out hope that something, anything will convince me to spend $700 on it. haha

I'm not satisfied with this device, but that doesn't mean you can't be. The screen is going to look good in most conditions. The camera is serviceable, especially if you're coming from a Nexus 5. The battery should be enough for most people. It's not some atrocity no one should buy.

However, if you were expecting a night and day difference with significant improvements over the Nexus 5, you're probably going to be disappointed. Google just doesn't have a grasp on what makes a world-class smartphone camera and doesn't optimize it's software to last longer like other OEMs. And using old display tech didn't help, either. I'd gladly pay $350 for this phone like I did last year with the 5 because the price justifies the compromises. This year it definitely doesn't.

Re: Anyone cancel their order after reading reviews?

I have iPhone 6 plus and all reviews I've seen show the 6 and 6 plus are better than the nexus in camera and 6 plus better in battery by quite a bit. I didn't see any stat the nexus blew away the iphone in except PPI.

I don't want to turn this into an ios vs android thread because I love both!
Apple makes some amazing phones... I actually liked the iPhones camera quite a bit especially the iPhone 6 plus. Left for a bigger screen

EXACTLY what I do... They did try to talk me into a post paid account and upgrading to the $70 plan when I visited a T-Mobile store to inquire about seeing if I could get on a list for a Nexus 6... I asked what benefit is there to going Post Paid vs my Prepaid plan? He said I'd get unlimited talk added to my unlimited data and the same 5 GB of LTE and I could make payments on the Nexus 6...

lol.... Ummmm I can pay cash for the phone and it won't put a dent in my checking account.... and I don't use 100 minutes a month and I use hangouts as well when on WiFi.... So basically the only benefit is you get an extra $40+ a month from me?????

I do figure they will eventually try and force us off.... but for now...........WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

Re: Anyone cancel their order after reading reviews?

I find it funny that all the attention are on the bad reviews and not the good. At the end of the day, I purchase things based on my opinion... not others. If I listen to whatever people say on the internet, I'll never be happy. No product is perfect. I buy things I'm happy with. I've been waiting for this phone for a long time and I'm definitely getting the Nexus 6. *drops mic*

Re: Anyone cancel their order after reading reviews?

Probably could have taken delivery of the device and then put it on Swappa and offered it up to someone on here at your cost plus the swappa and paypal fees.... Or went all out and made a profit....

I don't want to sound like a jerk but that's too much work just to help someone out when I can just click cancel. I don't want to have $700 tied up while I do all this, and I'm not in it to make a profit. So to do all that would be painful.

Well for a $700 device I'll take reviews over buying it and hassle or returning it

Re: It's a typical Nexus phone, full of compromises

After ditching iPhone after years of loyalty without any fanboyism, I picked up the Note 4 and thought it would pass Apple by 100 yards. Boy, was I wrong. I posted my complaints of the Note 4 in the Note 4 forums, you can search if you'd like. Then I had a realization when Google announced their new Nexus device. I thought to myself, "My fiance is due for her upgrade in December. Maybe I can hand her my Note 4, take her renewal and get myself the N6." So like all of you, I've waited for the reviews to pop up on YouTube and finally got to see some videos late last night after work. I am not totally impressed with the N6, like many of you. Now the question that I have to live for the next month (or two) is:

"To swap with the N4 for the N6, or not to swap." That is my question.

Or..just go back to Apple. :)

I agree it's too much work... if I were to just change my mind prior to shipment I too would just cancel..... I want it so mine would be more of a 30 days later I just decided I didn't like it and want to pass it on. So that is different...

I just made that reply because you mentioned you wish you could pass your preorder on to someone else..... Which would be nice....

Re: Anyone cancel their order after reading reviews?

I was worried after the review mentioned the slow memory. But the reviews on You Tube yesterday put my fears to rest. The screen is plenty bright, and the phone is very fast. A review comparing the Nexus 6 to the Note 4 said if you want speed and performance, get the Nexus. For more tools, get the Note 4. I've played the my Dad's Note 4, and the Touch Wiz lag is a deal breaker for me. After 2 years with the Note 2, I'm ready for a 6 inch screen, and the Nexus is the only game in town...

Nearly every post I've read that you have written regarding the Nexus 6 has been unconfirmed speculation that was based solely on someone else's experience as opposed to your and now you're calling someone ignorant for doing exactly what you've been doing the entire time.

These things will ring true even when you've all got them. Ask the editor of this site if those problems still persist.

Absolutely spot on. It's nice to see someone actually utilizing common sense and not just foaming at the mouth over a couple of reviews that re clearly in minority.

Exactly why he is one of 3 I now have blocked on here... Tired of reading the ignorance.....
