I had this with my Maxx HD also, but now its appearing with this new update. Google now appears also when you press the back or recent apps button, not only home like back then. And its annoying because its sloppy, I barely touch either button and it pops up the Google now button. Anybody has found a solution to this issue ever since the new update?

Another lame and desperate attempt from Google to shoehorn its way into yet another niche of our lives. Can you say Buy-N-Large? Yeah, this should be high on the list to go in a custom ROM.

fat-fingered and Maxx-ed out.

Can you elaborate? This doesn't seem to be happening to me.

The area that initiates Google Now seems to be larger now. I always had difficulties launching it before the update. It seems to work better for me now.

I also was part of the soak test and got the new update. I've tested it several times, and holding the back arrows and app switcher DO NOT activate the Google arc...

Pressing the back or recent apps button doesn't bring up Google now for me, but if I press, hold, and drag up then it brings it up. It's actually pretty handy that way since I don't have to be right on the home button to bring up Google now, but just pressing the other buttons didn't bring it up

Yes whenever I press the back button accidentally , the Google now circle shows up and if I press the recentapps button it does the same. If y'all are not experiencing it, try pressing back button a lot or recent apps a lot and it will happen eventually. 98% of the testers got that bug

And you're just pressing it and not holding and dragging it up? I have the update and am not having that problem at all

Yes just by slightly touching it the Google now pops up

Just tested - I can duplicate the results ONLY if part of my finger(thumb) touches the screen.... lower your touching point to the bottom portion of the button (towards the bezel) and it will not do that. I used to touch the upper portion of the button when I first got the phone, but had to stop doing that as I would accidentally launch the app above it.

To be honest, I personally prefer the updated touch area as it was rather difficult to launch google now.

The Google now got improved Actually, but the only issue is the sensitivity of the soft buttons

Use xposed with gravity box, under "navigation bar tweaks" find "navigation ring targets" turn it on with no targets. Reboot and Google Now is off of the home button and will not mess up back and menu buttons any more. :D
