Google Now keeps saying my location service is off

Hey Fifth do you have the link to the Google Group this was posted in? I seemed to have lost my bookmark. I did see you in that thread over there. Everybody needs to submit info to them, because the quicker they will be able to solve the issue.

I've made 2 separate reports to Google, the first one when I thought it was a Google Now issue, then again with the Network Location issue. I haven't gotten any replies.

This has been happening for the last few days, I guess since I updated Maps. Both Google Now and Saga have been reporting that my location services are off, even though everything is checked in Location under settings.

Using an HTC One on Rogers. This is really annoying.

Seems everyone has the same symptoms. Hope G will fix this quickly. I just noticed today that when using G-maps,it takes longer to find the location, even with GPS on. Same counts for Ingress,if anyone of you is playing that. Also, I also have received about 6x an error notification: "Unfortunately Maps has stopped." I reported it each time. Anyone else got that error?

Must be why Google's stock dropped 17 points today :P

Glad I looked this up and found out I'm not the only one with the problem. I'm just going to sit tight and wait for a fix.

Samsung Galaxy Nexus, same problem, for the past week or so i cant use Google Now. same issue on 4.2.2 and 4.2.1

Called HTC about this issue who said NO ONE has called this in. Told me to call Sprint stating it could be a service issue. Did that, they said NO ONE has reported this to them and blamed either HTC or Google. She offered to do a factory data hard reset and I said no thanks, that doesn't work. I've put 2 reports into Google but haven't heard anything. The HTC person I talked to said she has the One with AT&T and hers is working fine. What carriers does everyone with this problem have?

It's seemingly random, my guess is something google has been silently pushing to phones.

My phone was affected HTC One, sprint, did a hard reset(with HTC backup it's much less painful than you would think, only took me 45min-1hr for full restore to how I like it). However my girlfriend, with the same HTC One on sprint, same account even, was not affected at all.

My HTC ONE is saying that the Location service is off also, and just as everyone else, the Location service is checked on position. Phone is only one month old.

Has everyone tried a factory reset yet? I see in previous post that many have done a factory reset, yet see the issue reappear after a while. Curious to see if everyone who factory resets sees the issue reappear.

No, I haven't done one yet, but I'm thinking about it. Only problem I have with that is that I just did one 3 weeks ago (before this issue started)and it takes me 4-5 hours to set everything all back up.

Does Sense not allow you to backup settings? Other launchers, such as Apex, Nova, etc. allow you to backup settings for a future restore. You might want to look into that and see if Sense allows this. I have not used any recent devices with the new Sense so I couldn't say for sure. There are other resources to backup apps. However, some require root access.

Yes, they do, but the last factory reset I did, none of my backups worked. I also lost a lot of ringtones, all my screenshots and some pictures. Have no idea why as that was the first time that happened to me with factory resetting.

I have the new HTC ONE on Sprint. Same location problems as everybody else.. everything is on etc.. i hope there is a fix soon.. my phone is brand new, and im still within the 14 day return period.. tempted to take it in for the S4!!!

T-Mobile. I spoke with them and they said that Google is working on an update to fix.

Well, its good to know its not just Sprint, which is what HTC was telling me at the same time they were telling me they knew nothing about it.
