Google photos problem

You can't share a photo with Google Photos. Google Photos is a backup service (cloud storage) you can upload to Google Photos but not share.

Technically, a good point--but if you tap the Share option, the Upload to Google Photos option should be there as one of the Share options.

To repeat the problem, when I receive a photo attached to an email, getting it into GOOGLE PHOTOS via the SHARE option, doesn't work. It appears to work but when I look for it, it's nowhere to be found

When you say that it appears to work, do you mean that it seems to acknowledge that you've shared the photo, but you can't find it in the Google Photos app or Google Photos on the web? Go to your Google Photos webpage on your computer browser, and see if they show up there.

Do you have Google+ installed? Also, go to Settings>Accounts-Google>[your Google account]. Are Google Photos or Google Photos Backup checked on?

Yes. Both are checked off. Unfortunately, I don't have access to the web so I can't check to see if they are there. I guess I'll have to use the SAVE TO DOWNLOAD method to get the photos into Google photos. I'll try that later. Thanks again for all your help and patience.

Welcome to Android Central!

Are they actually stored on her PC or in the cloud on Picassa?

import Google photo

When I receive a photo as an attachment in an email, I try to add it to Google photos. When I click on the photo, I get two options. One is to share, and the other is to download. When I select share. It gives me the option to share to Google photos. However when I look at Google photos, and the gallery, the photo is not there. If I select the download option, the file appears in the download folder. I can then use the share command from the download file to import the photo into Google photos. I'd like to skip the download function, and use the share command directly. Has anyone had any success with the share command directly? Thanks

Photos load very slow

I'm using the new Google Photos. This smartphone has been used with WIFI at home most of the time. The only time I use Data is when traveling. It has worked flawlessly. Yesterday, I was going to show friends my photos from previous trips. When I went to Google Photos, they were blank initially, then started to load, one by one very slowly. I had a 4g signal that was weak. The photos took forever to load and never completely finished. I'm talking hours. Needless to say, I could not show the photos. When I returned home, with WIFI, everything was back to normal.
Does anyone know what happened, and will this happen each time I go Into Data? Thanks.

Google Photos captions

I want to add an app from the Play Store to add captions to my Google Photos. I need recommendations from users out there. Keep it simple. Thanks.

Google Photos

How do I change the location taken of a photo to an actual place instead of GPS coordinates?

Google Photos location

I posted this last week. It's unusual that no one has posted a response. I probably didn't post in enough detail for someone to respond. Here's my question. My system is listed below. I have LOCATION TAG turned on. In looking at the INFORMATION on the photo, it shows GPS coordinates instead of the physical location (street, road, etc). Is that the way it works, or do I need to change the settings? Thanks.

Re: Google Photos location

Yes, locations on the photo are saved as coordinates in the exif data. The area according the coordinates is shown on a map when viewing the picture in Google Photos if that is enabled for your Google account.

I sort of thought that was the case. Do you know of an application that will convert the coordinates to a map with more information (street, road, etc). Thanks for your help on this.

Re: Google Photos location

Google Photos will show it on a map but not street ecetera. Unless you went to street view. I don't know of an application off hand that will.

Open photo in stock Gallery app. Touch it and a notification bar appears. Menu (3 dots) > More info... the following screen appears and just touch the map.

Google Photos problem

Until recently, via the search function, I was able to see 100's of face shots of the photos in my collection. Today, they are, except for a few, gone. All the photos are still there, but the search function doesn't show them. What happened, where did they go, and how do I get them back? Thanks.
