Google Pixel 3 / 3 XL 2018

Yeah it will be lol. I will get the 3 XL, the LTE watch, and then probably the wireless charging stand for my computer desk at home.

I was against smart watches but the more I use it the more I like it. Love using it as a remote control for listening to music instead of taking my phone out. The only thing the Huawei 2 doesn't have is LTE which I use to think I didn't want but now I want it.

I have the Huawei watch 2. Replaced my apple watch when my iPhone died the other day. They do an LTE version for £50 more. I paid just £210 for my watch.

Only thing I think is ugly about my the P3XL is the glass body. And as soon as someone releases cases, I'll buy one.

Agreed....but at least the bottom is not glossy and less likely to show prints. For me it's got to have a case and or insurance.

Here's an example of digital wellbeing

The traditional button layout is much better IMO. The iPhone X gestures are way better!

I am all for Google pushing gestures and making it a default but they needed to have navigation buttons an option, for maybe a year so they can make them better and see if users really like them.

It's not stuck as default or only option on all Pie, just on the Pixel 3 series.

I will be buying the cheapest one available at launch, just to have SOME protection out the gate .. then a Spigen once they're built out.

I'll get a base first and while I wait, I'll see if the phone has any issues.

After having an XL and a case it is a lot of bulk in my pocket so I'm ready for a regular pixel. Besides I don't watch movies on my phone I don't need a big screen

Pixel 3 models will only have gestures. No option to go back to the traditional button layout.

The gestures are terrible. Google is making a stupid and avoidable mistake. One of many, in the Pixel 3.

Agree that the current half-gesture system is pretty bad and it being the default on the Pixel 3 is crazy. At least have the option to go back to the traditional layout in settings.

Really questionable decisions Google are making with the Pixel 3.

So two things from the RUMOR MILL.

1) Test devices (3 XL) running Android P have gestures on by default, but it is changeable in settings.
2) Test devices (3 XL) running Android P have gestures still part of the Pixel Launcher... putting Nova launcher on the device reverts it to navigation keys.

And two things from the article that everyone reporting on it seems to have missed:

3) "While Pixel devices that are updated from Oreo will still see their three-button navigation by default with an option to switch to gestures, future Google phones (and any other manufacturer that wants it) will ship with gesture navigation turned on by default." This says, that gestures will be enabled by default. It does NOT say that there's no option to change away from gestures.
4) The editor's note, "This section has been updated to reflect that Google did not confirm that future Pixels will only have gesture navigation, simply that the default navigation system in Pie is gestures." This also says that gestures will be enabled by default. It does NOT say that there's no option to change away from gestures.

So points 3 and 4, when taken in the context of points 1 and 2 - seems to indicate that the whole internet is crying over approximately nothing.

Some people just DO NOT like change, lol. I'm looking forward to it.

The part that kills me is if it's a change somone likes then Google made a smart move. If it's a change they don't agree with....its a disastrous decision by Google.

No matter what, you can't please everyone all the time.......
