As for waterproofing, I don't really use my phone out in the rain or rafting down a river or swimming in the ocean. I also don't drop my phones in the toilet. And if you're pathological about this, you're better off buying a LifeProof case!

If you don't pay with your credit card, you can apply for Google Store credit through Synchrony Bank at the Google Store. For protection for the Pixel, buy the $99 coverage from the Google Store. Or Square Trade.

I bought the Samsung charger off ebay for less than 20. It didn't come with a power adapter and even though it's the fast charger I have a normal power supply. It does cycle on and off as the phone is fully charged. The waterproof is a little gimmicky but nice level of protection. I've taken the phone into a pool to video my son and not worry about a drop and watched movies in the shower.

Not a big fan of Samsung after their whole fiasco but one thing about them. I never waited this long for a phone or the replacement.

I think the backorder issue has to be Google. If Verizon had the phone in a warehouse surely they take our money and fulfill deliveries.

Wow! I just checked on the status of my order placed 10/21 for the pixel XL 128 QB now showing the expected ship date of 1/13

I am still using the Note 7. I pre-ordered the Note 7 and went through the first Exchange program. I really like the Note 7. Going to the pixel XL is going to feel like a bit of a downgrade. No wireless charging and not waterproof plus a three-month wait to get it. You're kidding? Right? I bought the Note 7 on the monthly payment program. Once it was recalled Verizon credited my account and I have not been paying the monthly charges. I wonder how long I can continue to use this phone for free? I bet until the next Samsung S8 comes out which is starting to look like might happen before Verizon ships me a pixel XL anyway.

You mean Processing blah blah blah. Mine is still at the please wait here why we do nothing... says estimate ship date of 12/9. I ordered mind on 10/28. No movement on mine. I want to know who's a$$ at Verizon I need to stick my hand up to be a puppet and give Google a nice talking to. If they don't have the balls to step to Google to see where the hell the phones are at and why they are not being sent out, I will gladly take the contact info and give them a piece of my mind. Then pass it along on this forum. We might actually get some movement then.

Really sad the way Google and Verizon made a deal, but I guess Google rather have most of its phones unlocked. I think that is the way the cellular industry is or should be heading.

I ordered mine 11-22 and it hasn't moved off of 1-6-16. You figured mine would have been pushed back too...

Give it time. It will definitely change. If it does like mine it will change on the day or day after the expected shipping date.

I check my order every day - my order is was placed on 10-18-16. For those that have seen me on the forum they hopefully remember my situation so I wont get into it. Currently, the only change on my order is it went from a Pre-Order number to an "Order" number, and it still says "processing". There is no expected ship date listed, nothing - just "check back later". Keep your chins up everyone.. I've been tempted to switch to iPhone but we all know what that curiosity does.. It costs us money and eventually boredom with iOS. Much respect to Apple though.

I checked with my Verizon dealer and they have quite a few iPhone 7 Plus colors in stock. No flat black though, which would be my choice. I'm excited to have Pixel XL though. I've been using a 64gb Black sapphire Galaxy S6, Google Now Launcher, & Samsung Good Lock, which seems to operate quite well!

I give you credit because I fall into the iPhone web every September (Steve Jobs is still one of my Idols!) and have to extricate myself about 2 months later due to extreme boredom! You are smart enough to resist. Seriously, though, I couldn't stand to be strung along by the Verizon Pixel ordering fiasco anymore, glad I bought from the Google Store.

We're actually starting to see movement on QB XL 128 shipments from Verizon. Two users with mid-October order dates have posted, one that has received a shipping notification and another whose pre-order number was updated to an order number and their credit card charged (which is the usual precursor to shipment). Hang in there a little longer, the end of the wait may be near.
