I guess I just expected them to look like my Moto X's does but just opening my Facebook app, it does look like that. I was confusing it w/ my home screen.

Where do these people keep "seeing" these and not asking questions? So you take a picture of a dude holding a phone but don't ask what the heck it is haha?
Or is this just Google conveniently releasing pictures...

It's Google. Remember the pic of the poor guy last year holding the 5 at the Kit Kat announcement? These pics always appear about a month before release.

I like the Nexus 5 a lot better. The back is too busy with the Moto crater.

I realize I am in the minority, but I rarely if ever see the back of my phone. So how it looks really does not matter to me. But I think that back looks okay to me.

with a device this big you are probably going to need/want a case on it that will cover it all up anyway....
I absolutely LOVE the Nexus 5 feel and design but to protect myself from myself I do have a case on it which completely takes away from the beauty and feel of the device....

I agree... the nexus 5 is pretty much perfect IMO. But I don't mind this back too much. The specs and pure Android are what I'm most interested in anyway..
A guy at work just got the new moto X . I will be happy if they follow that build design. The moto x feels great in the hands

I know, me too. It's so aggravating to cover up the way it looks and feels. Maybe I'll take the case off again. I'm not interested in a huge Nexus 6. I already have a bigger phone and it's plenty big (OPO), but my favorite is still my Nexus 5.

I have to stick with Verizon but if it comes out for VZW then i certainly will be getting it... i know it's probably not but i hope I'm wrong...

Yeah it's weird... I finally got away from screen protectors... I like the raw feel of the stock glass vs any screen protector I've ever had/used specially all these years using a Swype type keyboard... Without a doubt I am in on this beast.... I might have to go without a case on it though... Just depends how it feels out the box.... I didn't want a case on my Nexus 5 but without a case it has a slick feel to it like I am going to drop it all the time... So I've kept one on it.... The Moto X feels awesome in the hand so if this thing feels similar I MAY have to go without one... hard to say until you have it though.... Maybe a case at first until I get use to managing it..... LOL!!!!!

I'm looking forward to this thing. Can't wait to hear first impressions and actually see it. A case will make it even bigger though. Imagine using a tablet as your phone and you'll get an idea how big, although hopefully it'll be more lightweight. I'm wondering how many people will be returning it, lol.

1. the Diztronic TPU case for the Nexus 5 feels like it is made of the exact same soft rubber coating on the Nexus 5 - it's thin and a real close match. i love their cases.
2. i never use screen protectors and have a lot of faith in Gorilla Glass 3 - BUT even Gorilla Glass 3 will scratch under certain circumstances. i've found that beach sand is Gorilla Glass kryptonite.
3. for the Nexus 6/X i will most likely get a Diztronic TPU case and still skip the screen protector (as usual). i have yet to find a screen protector that isn't obtrusive, doesn't bubble or look bad, is an easy install, and doesn't affect the touch/feel of the device.
