Hopefully they're ($649) the off-contract "carrier" price which traditionally is 100-150$ higher than the Google Play Store price.

------

It's been the same pricing every year now. The only difference this time is Google hasn't said anything yet but carriers have. The Verizon Galaxy Nexus off contract price was $649 and Google Play was $399. T-Mobile Nexus 4 price was $499. Best buy had the Nexus 5 going for $799 when it launched. Sprint had the Nexus 5 at $150 ON CONTRACT. I'm expecting a nice surprise from Google when it hits the play store.

With regards to the moto software, here is what I think will happen. It's a nexus device, it should come preloaded with the moto suit of software, however that does not limit moto from developing and making these apps compatible with the phone that u can download a seperately install from the play store if the user wants them... Another thing we also should consider, Google bought a lot of patents from moto in the deal, so Google could have made its own version of that software that has yet to be revealed. However I would place my bets u could install them from the play store.

I am hoping exactly this happens. Take into consideration that Motorola pulled these out of the OS and put them in the play store with maybe the Nexus in mind. Also, the screen turn on is built into Lollipop.

The only thing is I didn't see where the Nexus has the front sensors.

I'm pretty sure it doesn't have the front sensors. Just active display where it lights up for notifications and when you pick it up and double tap it.

While it would be nice if true, don't you think Google would have jumped at the chance to squash any bad PR they are getting as a result of a price floating around that is much higher than they plan to sell it for?

I would think they would. But then Google is a company that releases It's latest OS, phone, and tablet in a blog post with youtube videos. No event. I think Google could care less what people thing about what Moto states and will do what they want, when they want.
