Re: Supposedly Google wants to offload Motorola to Lenovo

hey ry since this did happen to motorola and if things turn for the worst for the company which phone do you think you would purchase next

I'm not in the market for a new phone right now. The phone I would probably purchase next hasn't yet been officially announced.

Re: Supposedly Google wants to offload Motorola to Lenovo

so so sad :( this is the main reason why I bought android phone :(
Moto X really fits my lifestyle.
Expect no more updates from kitkat. It's the end Moto X.

Motorola sold for a 3rd of what Google purchased it for?

What are we missing here?

This why I stick to companies like apple and Samsung.

Criticize apple all you want, but at least you can count on your device getting updates and support for longer than a year and a half.

So much for gimmicks and fire sales!

Why buy a moto X now?

Re: Say Goodbye to Moto X sales!

First of all the software on your phone will not change. You may see a different variation on your next phone but the MotoX will always be very Vanilla. There is still a long process for this to finalize anyways so there is no need to worry so soon.

Samsung Galaxy Note 3 (Verizon)

Re: Say Goodbye to Moto X sales!

I don't know what you mean by where do you find, but this is just putting 2 + 2 together. Motorola is losing money on these sales. The only way this is happening is by Google subsidizing Motorola. Lenovo is a hardware company and is going to need Motorola to turn a profit. They aren't going to subsidize sales like this. Google can subsidize Motorola because they are an advertising company.

The sales might continue with the Moto X, but nothing like this will happen with the Moto X2.

The first batch costs more to make than the new batch.

Re: Supposedly Google wants to offload Motorola to Lenovo

....look at this gloomy thread

This could be a good thing guys.. Lenovo's success with the thinkpads... the last years nicely built Lenovo k900 phone that never made it here (please note i said nicely built hardware based from European reviews... I have no idea how their skin ontop of android works, never tried it)

and the best of all... i'm excited for them to give management a great big swift kick in the balls.. BRING BACK THE DROID/MILESTONEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

*milestone fanboy, the first phone that made me drop into the deep dark holes of android

Motorola management seemed to be doing fine.

Re: Lenovo reportedly set to buy Motorola from Google for up to $3 billion

lenovo might get their own skin of android slapped on the next gen of motorola phones skin cant be everything because alot of people complain about touchwiz but which manufacture continues to outsell every other, "Samsung" though i prefer to have stock android myself.

Re: Google to sell Motorola Mobility to Lenovo for around $3 billion.

Lenovo makes some good products, but their Android tablets were squarely focused on value. Hopefully they'll continue Motorola's direction in focusing on customer experience and with software.

This really is my all time favorite pocket-able device. Some of it is due to Android's evolution but much of it is the form factor, design and added features. I'm hoping for nothing less than this plus a step up with its successor!

Sent from my Moto X

Re: Say Goodbye to Moto X sales!

Moto x is officially toast. Wow and I was really hoping that the moto x would be something special. Nexus for sure now. No doubt.

How is Motorola officially toast?

Lenovo Support

Son ordered a Moto X Developer Edition this week that has already shipped. His first smartphone. Now the news today of the sale. Now he's torn. Does he keep the Moto X or return it and get a Nexus 5. My concern is how good will Lenovo be on updates and support? What other concerns?
