Google Wallet 1.1-R67-v4 (June 6th update)

Re: Google Wallet 1.1-R63-v12 (May 16th update)

anyone have a work around to get wallet working on the tmobile samsung galaxy s2 yet? I am able to install no problem, either by download the apk, or using the browser/market workaround.

Still get the "unsupported carrier message. " any way around this?

You're really asking in the wrong place, lol, everyone here is on the Verizon Gnex, LDO.

Also, does the SGS2 even have NFC? I thought it didn't and without NFC there's no point in having wallet..

Re: Google Wallet 1.1-R63-v12 (May 16th update)

So I have a stock gnex with 4.0.2 and I just had a warranty replacement. I just installed the old apk linked in this thread to my new phone. It will only let me set up a new prepaid card. Am I to assume that I just lost the $100 that I had on my old prepaid card linked to the app on the old phone? Crap!

If you set it up using the same Google sign in / gmail address you should have kept everything..

Not really, I accidentally cleared all info on my Google Wallet which had like $30, and when I accidentally cleared the data on the app, my user id changed, thus i had to make a new prepaid card setup, so what I did, and probably you should too since it's a big amount, make a call to money network to fix your problem.

That shouldn't happen if you used the same gmail. I've completely wiped my device flashing ROMs a hundred times... every time I reinstall Wallet I link it to my primary gmail address, it syncs with the same user ID and the balance I left it at is the same.

Re: Google Wallet 1.1-R63-v12 (May 16th update)

I did as suggested and cleared data on my existing wallet, uninstalled, reinstalled and logged in. Lost my prepaid card with the $20 I just put on it yesterday. There does not seem to be any way to contact google about the goggle prepaid card either. Not at all happy if I just lost $20.

Sure there is, call money network. Look up the number or find it in the app somewhere I believe.

How did you guys get the Google Wallet on the VZW Nexus? do you have to be Rooted?
Sorry if it has been addressed before, but haven't seen it...
Thanks,

Read anything? Lol. No you do not read root. Download and install the apk. Profit. :)

I denied su access the first time I installed and it instantly showed the yellow bar at the top saying unsupported device. The menu didn't even have the Payment cards & Reward cards in the list only Offers & Transactions. I uninstalled it(cleared cache and data) then installed again allowing su access and now it works.

I just had uninstall and reinstall for it to show my gift card. Happened after rooting 4.0.4. I have it through the market on vzw nexus unlocked and rooted with no unsupported device banner. Which is odd because it seems everyone rooted gets that message.

Re: Google Wallet 1.1-R63-v12 (May 16th update)

So, I reset my wallet, uninstalled, installed the new apk and now it's just stuck on the "Initializing Your Device" screen. I'm on 4.0.4 OTA. Is my Wallet broken? =\

Okay I was about to post about this same issue...

I am stock unrooted and got the update... I reset data uninstalled and installed the latest version (this version was not compatible with my phone on 4.0.2)

It was a tough long slog of almost 2 hours before it was working

First it got stuck on the intitializing your device screen

I had to wait probably a half hour maybe more before it initialized (I had to turn on wifi while it was stuck and then wait another 20 minutes)
Then it got weird when I eneterd my password there's a settings button that lets you enter it "through browser' Even then it kept cycling through the Accept settings screen

I finally closed out after trying it a bunch of times and when I reentered it let me set my pin (finally!)

But then... when I tried to select prepaid card to reactivate my old card it stuck on the money
network verify screen for even longer than it was on the blue initializing screen)

But FINALLY it added my card

Everything is now back to normal

So you should be okay Seriously try turning on wifi and wait as long as it takes even an hour

I checked older threads and people have seemed to had this problem before.

Re: Google Wallet 1.1-R63-v12 (May 16th update)

@vivek615 Thank you.. I have indeed seen many mentions of crazy long waits for device initialization and activating cards lately. Something on Google's end. Good to know you were able to get it working with just patience :)

no problem... I was literally terrified on both screens where it hung. I felt like an idiot for attempting to upgrade when it was working fine!

It makes me wonder if maybe there's someone on the other end at Money Net/Google who has to manually approve you?

Either way I tested it out and was able to make my purchase without issue just as before.

Re: Google Wallet 1.1-R63-v12 (May 16th update)

Thanks vivek615 for sharing your experience.

I had the exact same problem today when I got stuck on the initializing screen etc. Good to know it wasn't me who screwed up. I had issues adding funds so I uninstalled like an idiot. I ran into the long wait time once I reinstalled and close to an hour later I was good to go.

I found this out this weekend when ROM flashing
I can add same thing happen to me on iniatilazing, didn't matter if on Wifi's or not still took a longer time then normal. It eventually did work tho. :)

Re: Google Wallet 1.1-R63-v12 (May 16th update)

I also had the long wait before wallet initialized, and the pre paid card took forever to verify. Then, it was back to normal.

This morning, I entered my pin and a pop up comes up saying that my device is unsupported in my region or on my carrier so I clicked OK. Waller proceeds to open up with no card icons whatsoever. There was just offers and transaction.

Any ideas?

I had this issue when I tried to (side-load) update from 1.1R57v5 to 1.1-R63v12. I also tried a clean install and it did the same thing. I finally did a clean install of 1.1R57v5 and it was fixed.

Since yesterday, I get the "Cannot contact bank" message under User ID, and my Available balance has yesterday's date. Sprint users are also reporting this message, so I think "Money Network" may be offline.

If "Money Network" is offline that would explain why I can't add a new pre-paid card. Thankfully my pre-paid card is empty (only place around me that takes it is McDonald's).

Also, I just tried R63-v12 on my locked & unrooted GN and it is a no go.

Re: Google Wallet 1.1-R63-v12 (May 16th update)

Getting same problem... it deleted the card icons but they came back.... still can't see balance what a roller coaster

UPDATE: Well... back to normal again Droidlife was saying that it was down this morning.

Guess its not down anymore

To clarify I had both the "carrier not supported" followed by closing and reopening showing up with the icons that let you choose cards missing! (that was freaky) also had the issue where "unable to contact bank" but all better now
