Google Watch 3

Listen. I had to sit down and figure out stuff. had to get the face settings and watch settings right. I think I'm good to go now.
I got stuff figured out (or at least I think I do), it's the stuff the watch can't do (or I can't figure out how to do LOL) that's got me ...

Grabbed this for some protection which it does certainly provide (and also toughens up the look a bit IMO). Gonna run it through the paces and see how I like it ... It does make rotation the crown rather challenging

Does it protect the glass from scratches?

It does have raised edges, so it should. There is no screen protector, so obviously a direct hit could result in scratches.

In all honesty, I already have it packaged back up and ready to send back. It is extremely uncomfortable IMO and it really makes using the crown almost impossible. I would rather get either a cover or a film protector to prevent scuffs and scratches.

Thanks. Good to know.

I just received mine yesterday, but having owned PW1, PW2, and now PW3, I will say I love the new 45mm size and the screen landscape that there is. Too early to say anything about battery life, but everything I have read says it is improved. More to come...
I've also had all 3 and got the 45mm LTE PW3 on Monday. Battery life is much better for me so far. I think I could get pretty close to two days. I haven't really been away from my phone to test LTE yet but plan to this weekend.

For all three of the Pixel watches I have had, I have generally used the cases that snap onto the bezel and that have the tempered glass protector built in. The case takes some hits, but the watch has always come out like a champion.

Just added one like this in my Amazon cart ... for if I make it past the 14 day window with this watch

Waiting until I go home to put this metal band on. feels too light with the default band on

Pixel Watch 3 - Thoughts from a (former?) Galaxy Watch User

Overall I like this watch - the display is beautiful, bright, and vibrant, the watch/band are comfortable and light, the design is sleek and thus far the battery life suits my needs. I thought I'd miss the rotating bezel from the Watch 6 classic but I actually think I like the rotating crown better. I also like not having a bezel around the glass - it's a nice, clean experience interacting with the display and not having your finger hitting a "rail" at the edges (although it does make the watch feel very exposed and is a bit scary LOL). I am enjoying Fitbit and all the extra health details I get over Samsung Health.

However, there are some little things that either this watch doesn't do (or I can figure out how to do them) and some minor annoyances.

1) Display doesn't stay on when charging - I typically charge my watch nightly while unwinding watching TV. I like to glance over and see where the battery is at; which leads me to #2 ....

2) No battery fully charged notification on the phone. With the watch display staying off, you'd think you'd get prompted to be made aware when your watch battery is full. I did notice At a Glance showed that my watch was charged on occasions but sometimes it doesn't so an actual notification would be better IMO

3) No warning when disconnected from the phone. When I walked too far away from my phone with my Galaxy Watch it would let me know I disconnected.

4) Can't rearrange apps in the app draw? Kinda like this option on my Galaxy Watch so I can keep the apps I use more often up top (and know there's a recently used app button, but it only shows 6 apps)

5) Can't rearrange or remove quick settings? This one is a head scratcher and I hope I am missing a setting somewhere! Why can't I remove quick settings I don't use?! And why can't I rearrange them the way I chose?

6) AOD allows shortcut presses. I have a watch face that allows a shortcut to be assigned to pressing the minutes, on the Galaxy Watch you have to wake the display then touch the minutes area to launch the assigned shortcut. On the Pixel Watch I am able to launch it when pressing the AOD minutes area, which you'd think is a good thing as it eliminates a step, but far too often I'd find my watch open on that assigned shortcut app which led to turn off AOD

7) Can't customize exercises on the Fitbit quick start tile? Is this a Fitbit thing or a Watch 3 thing? Why can't I select 6 exercises of my choosing?

8) Editing watch face compilations from the app is confusing as there's no indication of which complication is where on the face. Why not have the list interact with the face? When you select a compilation to edit, it highlights that compilation on the face.

9) Lack of 3rd party bands. While this band is very comfortable, I HATE clasp design! That bow tie thing is clunky IMO so I got Amazon and there is such a limited variety. At first I thought it was because the pixel watch 3 was new, then after research I realized that all three generations use the same band attachment, so I looked for just straight up regular ole clasping watch band and there's just not a lot out there from what I can see.

10) No battery stats. Cannot get a list of what apps are using battery ... how can one determine if an app is causing excessive battery drain?

Anywho, that's my long winded 3-4 day assessment ...

The notifications are going to be a challenge. I'm so used to seeing someone IG face or whatnot with my Galaxy 6.

Yeah I'm noticing now that I have AOD off that notifications don't seem to wake/turn on the display

I have that for my GW5P, GW7, PW1 and PW2 irs a must for me. It's comfortable and protects well. Although on my GW's I have screen protectors as well but with the curved screen of the PW's that isn't al easily done.

I do have 1 scratch on my PW1 and have used this since launch so it is possible

#7 The quick exercises will change to reflect the ones you use. I was puzzled by this, too, but it will show the ones I use.
