Got my S7. Ask me questions!

How much free storage are the out of the box?

Frank
About ~25GB with 7.27GB taken up by the system partition. Note: this is the UK unlocked model. From what I've read the US model has a bit of carrier bloatware on it so the system partition takes up ~8GB.

Is the White Pages caller ID integration there? I have been hearing the US carriers have stripped it out.

Even without the flash, the S7 takes very clear pictures in low level settings... I tried a few last night, and it looked like there was a light on in the room when there was not, only in the connecting room.

Have had my S7 Edge for about 24 hours now... no major complaints, just getting used to it over my older S5. One thing I cannot figure out, is that at first when I added new apps to the drawer I could hit the A-Z tab and it would work, but now it will not. Did I toggle something somewhere? Cannot figure it out... the search to the left and edit to the right of the A-Z are working, but not A-Z alphabetizing....

Thanks. Was afraid it was standard. Read the same about US models.

That's the reason for my question. I will also buy a Nordic model, as I live in DK.

How is the battery?

After a few days using it now, slightly better than the S6 in my experience. I'm a very heavy user and on average I got about 3 hours of SOT with the S6. With the S7, I'm getting 4 hours a little more consistently.

Ouch... I was hoping the battery life would be a lot better than the S6. I want my next phone to easily last a day with heavy use. I guess that's still not possible. I know the S7 Edge has a bigger battery, but it's more expensive and might be a bit too big for me. Plus I don't really like the deformed display if you're watching a fullscreen video. Also not sure how well a case will protect a phone with edge screen.

I should add that with the S6, I had to disable a bunch of crap like VoLTE, Wifi Calling, Google Now, etc just to get that 3 hours. I couldn't even use WiFi and get good battery on my S6 without the Cell Standby bug. I'm hitting 4 hours+ with everything enabled. Not sure what my WiFi results are yet since I've been at work all week.

That's good to hear. Remember, the S6 got better battery life after a few days or so. I'm getting the same as you with the S6 and I'm a heavy user. That's definitely good news 👍

I almost died reading that . I misread and thought you were talking about the S7 and having to disable all that. Good to hear the battery is doing good. Can't wait to get mine.

Yep overall I have no complaints about the phone. I was very critical of the S6, but this phone has eliminated my complaints.

WiFi?? What's that?? I haven't used WiFi since I got off that poverty 2GB data plan years ago lol

I heard that on the GS7 you can get rid of the app drawer and have everything just on pages (like iOS). Can anyone confirm?

Reminds me of another downside of Iphones. LG just did that. Why would you want that?
