Got my S7. Ask me questions!

They are most definitely compatible. 4g LTE works off of GSM technologies
So why does Verizon always have a separate model of every phone that is incompatible with GSM carriers like Tmo & ATT? I wish it wasn't so. Every time I buy a new phone for Verizon I'm stuck with them and can't use it on anything else.

Be nice if I could put a Verizon S3 on Tmo, but it don't work that way. Go buy an unlocked phone off Amazon and try and put it on Verizon.

You can use most Verizon phones on GSM. But not the other way around

Reminds me of another downside of Iphones. LG just did that. Why would you want that?

I agree, why would anybody want to do that? I have so many apps I love the fact that they are in a separate drawer not cluttering up the main pages and that I can pick and choose apps I want on top and group them into folders for less clutter...

Do you know if the Cell Standby issue been fixed in 6.0.1? Does the Always On feature pulse in and out like the Moto X?

Cell standby no longer drains your entire battery if you have Wifi Calling and VoLTE enabled. Its usage has been pretty low on wifi compared to my S6 where it would constantly SAP battery life.

After a few days using it now, slightly better than the S6 in my experience. I'm a very heavy user and on average I got about 3 hours of SOT with the S6. With the S7, I'm getting 4 hours a little more consistently.
Oh wow, that's not good. That's less than what I see most people saying they get with the Note 5/S6 edge+ with the same battery capacities.

Is that the Snapdragon model you have?

Yes. I have seen other S7 users reporting 5-6 hours so take my usage with a grain of salt.

I just played with an s7 at the Verizon store, and I couldn't put it down. I have always had a moto droid series phone so to me that's what's "normal". The s7 absolutely blew me away, but I had a few questions on things that I either couldn't figure out or couldn't do because of in-store limitations.

Is there a setting somewhere to use a dark mode or night mode?

Is there a way to reverse the function of the capacitive buttons? I'm used to back on the left and menu on the right.

Can the home screens be customized with a third party launcher like Nova, or does touchwiz get in the way of that?

Well I'll stop there, none of my questions are deal breakers, but sometimes its the little things that get under ones skin. Mostly I'm just probably too worried because I'm just used to one way of doing things but I'm sure I can get used to a new way. . . but that screen though, absolutely gorgeous, couldn't put it down, it was very pleasurable for my bad eyesight.

1) Yes - using theme engine you can make the UI any colour you desire.

2) I don't know, sorry.

3) Yes, you can use Nova.

Do a google search for "making my Galaxy S6, or S7 work like stock android". Plenty of Youtube and instructions. You can use Samsung Themes to get it to work like your Droid and also use a launcher like Google Now, or other launchers. Enjoy.

It's for my wife who is coming from an iPhone. Besides, basically as one responder said, android is customizable which is why we pick it. I would like the option to have no app drawer.

Idk if this has been asked but can you use the front earpiece in conjunction with the speaker at the bottom of stereo speakers?

They all use LTE, so shouldn't you be able to swap carrier sim cards?

No, even though the sims are there for the LTE networks, a user's authentication is still verified via CDMA and won't let you in if you're GSM. Another reason not to go with Verizon.

Here's a great overview and comparison of the always on display feature:

ahhh that kinda sucks that it won't show facebook messenger notifications. almost eliminates the purpose of it for me. I have a group thread that I'm always checking and it looks like I will be unlocking the screen all the time anyway to check for notifications regarding that
